Child walking on tiptoes

Child walking on tiptoes

Children usually start learning to walk when they are around 1 year old, and many parents find that their children tend to walk on tiptoes. In fact, this may just be a temporary habit, but parents need to pay attention to the frequency of their children walking on tiptoes. If this happens for a long time, they need to pay special attention and take their children to the doctor for treatment in time to avoid serious conditions or missing the best treatment period.

1. Children walk on tiptoes

Walking on tiptoes is usually a minor temporary problem. Many children go through a tiptoe walking stage when they are 1-2 years old. This is very normal. Children who are just learning to walk like to experiment with various ways of standing, walking, and running, so they will also try walking on tiptoe. Once children find that standing and walking in this way is uncomfortable, they will slowly put their heels down.

2. There are three main reasons for walking on tiptoe:

1. Most children walk on tiptoes just because they are curious and childish, and they will pass this stage without any intervention.

2. Some children may need stretching because their Achilles tendon is too tight.

3. In rare cases, tiptoe walking may be a sign of certain developmental problems, and the child may also show other signs of developmental delays.

When should you worry?

If parents have the time and energy, they can keep a diary, mainly to record the frequency of the child's tiptoe walking and whether the frequency has changed.

If your child's situation is as follows, then don't worry!

1. The child does not always walk on tiptoes; sometimes his gait is completely normal.

2. The child's feet are not pointing forward when sleeping or lying on the floor to rest.

3. It can easily flex and stretch the child's feet up and down without exerting too much effort.

But! If your child exhibits any of the following three symptoms, take your child to see a doctor:

1. The child walks on tiptoes all day and looks like a ballerina.

2. Even when resting or sleeping, the child's feet still remain bent forward.

3. When flexing and stretching the child's Achilles tendon and calf muscles, they feel too tight.

Finally, I want to say that no matter what kind of situation your child has, if it seems wrong to your parents, please remember to observe and find the answer. This is very important for your child and may be a lifelong decision for him or her!

Finally, I would like to say that I wish all children to grow up healthy, happy and strong!
