The dangers of children playing with batteries

Batteries are a common item in people's daily lives. Many toys and small appliances require batteries. Although batteries have brought a lot of convenience to people's lives, they are not a good toy for children. Playing with batteries for a long time may even have a great impact on the baby's health. Next, I will introduce to you the dangers of children playing with batteries!

1. Zinc salts can precipitate proteins and have a stimulating effect on the skin and mucous membranes .

When the concentration in water exceeds 10-50 millis/liter, it is carcinogenic and may cause chemical pneumonia.

2. Excessive manganese accumulation in the body causes neurological dysfunction in infants.

Some modern medical studies believe that manganese is a nerve-toxic metal and Parkinson's disease is the result of a large amount of manganese accumulating in the basal ganglia of the brain. When babies lick or bite dry batteries, they can easily break them, causing the manganese heavy metal in the battery to enter the baby's body and cause neurological dysfunction. The early symptoms of excessive manganese accumulation include fatigue, dizziness, headache, insomnia, lower limb weakness, and difficulty walking. In severe cases, speech disorders, memory loss, and mental retardation may also occur.

3. It can cause gastric bleeding.

Once a button battery enters the stomach, it is easily corroded by gastric acid. Some alkaline substances in the battery will enter the stomach and damage the gastric mucosa. In severe cases, it will cause bleeding and erosion.

4. Burns the esophagus.

The harm to children from accidentally swallowing batteries lies not only in the obstruction they cause, but also in the fact that the batteries can form an electric current loop at the site of incarceration in the trachea or esophagus and burn surrounding tissues. According to pediatricians, button lithium batteries usually get stuck in the esophagus or throat, and within two hours the outer shell will rupture and leak corrosive acid, burning the esophagus.

In fact, in life, the battery contains a lot of lead and mercury. If the baby is not careful, the lead and mercury will be absorbed into the stomach, causing the baby to reach a very high level, which affects the baby's health. Therefore, try not to let your baby play with electronic products, such as batteries, which are harmful to the baby's physical development and may even affect the baby's intelligence.
