Dark skin on baby's fingertips

Dark skin on baby's fingertips

The dark skin on the tips of a baby's fingers may be caused by lack of oxygen, but it is also possible that it is due to congenital heart disease or excessive wear of local tissue. It is necessary to find the primary cause and then treat it symptomatically.

1. Hypoxia: The baby's skin may turn black due to hypoxia in the tissue cells, such as being in an unventilated environment for a long time, or wearing too thick clothes. Generally, oxygen inhalation is needed in time to help the symptoms gradually improve.

2. Congenital heart disease: Some infants and young children will suffer from congenital heart disease after birth, accompanied by difficulty breathing and darkening of the skin at the fingertips. Most of them are caused by poor local blood circulation, which will cause symptoms of tissue hypoxia and ischemia. You need to go to the hospital for an electrocardiogram and cardiac color ultrasound examination to understand your own condition. If the condition is not particularly serious, you can go to the hospital for regular check-ups, or you can take oral anti-myocardial ischemia drugs, such as coenzyme Q10. If the symptoms are more severe, surgery is required.

3. Excessive wear of local tissue: If the local area is repeatedly rubbed, it may cause the skin tissue to turn black. You can choose hot compresses and massage to promote blood circulation and relieve the symptoms. You must do a good job of local care.
