How to deal with swollen baby hands

The baby's hands are usually soft and boneless, and very delicate. The baby's skin is also relatively delicate. Therefore, if the baby's hands are swollen, it looks very obvious. The causes of the baby's swollen hands are generally related to sprains and allergies. If the baby's hands are bitten by mosquitoes in the summer, the baby's hands will also swell. So how to deal with the baby's swollen hands?

If your baby's hand suddenly becomes swollen, it may be due to acute injury or allergic disease. It is necessary to pay attention to whether the baby has sprains, crushing injuries, etc., which generally indicate a history of trauma, and most of them will have obvious pain. If this is the case, you can apply cold compresses to the baby with a towel, and then apply bone-setting water or Yunnan Baiyao aerosol for treatment. If it is an allergic reaction, it is usually caused by toxins from mosquito or other insect bites. There may be local redness or rash, accompanied by itching symptoms. The baby can be treated with medication such as Fengyoujing, Wuji ointment or fluocinolone ointment. If it happens in winter, it may be frostbite, which requires hot compresses and keeping warm.

When a mosquito bites a human body, it releases venom. When the human body recognizes it, it will have a defensive reaction, releasing the inflammatory substance histamine, which causes symptoms of itching and swelling. You can use continuous cool compresses to reduce swelling and relieve itching, such as wrapping ice cubes in a towel and applying it to the bitten area, or putting a wet towel in the refrigerator and freezing it before applying it to the bitten area. This can be done every two or three hours.

Considering that the child may have an allergic reaction to the toxins in the mosquito body after being bitten by mosquitoes, you can try local ice compress to prevent the spread of inflammation. If itching, redness and swelling are obvious, you can use calamine lotion or mint ointment to relieve itching. You can also use Wuji ointment, Itch Elimination and other anti-itch and anti-allergic drugs. If it is more serious, you can use steroid ointments such as Eloson and take oral anti-allergic drugs for symptomatic treatment.
