What are the treatments for rhinitis in children?

Young children's physical development is not yet complete, and they are very likely to suffer from certain diseases in an unfavorable environment. For example, colds and fevers are extremely common. From a clinical point of view, this is a very common disease, but if it is not treated in time, the chance of turning into rhinitis will be very high, causing the baby to have nasal congestion, runny nose, headache and other adverse symptoms. Experts say that Western medicine, Chinese medicine and diet therapy are suitable for treating rhinitis in young children. Among them, diet therapy is the best choice. It not only works quickly, but also has no side effects on the baby. Mothers can choose one of the methods for treatment according to the actual situation of the baby.

1. Western medicine treatment : Currently, nasal corticosteroids are one of the most effective drugs for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, including Nasonex, Fentonolactone, and Rhinocort. The advantages are small dosage, mild side effects, and easy use. For children, the most worrying problem with the use of nasal hormones is the effect on the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal glands. These drugs have relatively low inhibitory power, low systemic availability, and higher safety. However, children under 2 years old should try not to use them because there is currently no experience in their use. Antihistamines, anticholine drugs, etc. can also be used.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment : Jiang's rhinitis ointment is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine treatment. The traditional Chinese medicine formula includes 30 grams of Xanthium sibiricum, 20 grams of Magnolia officinalis, 35 grams of Scutellaria baicalensis, 4 grams of Asarum, 25 grams of Angelica dahurica, 10 grams of Gentiana scabra and other Chinese herbal medicines. It is done through manual process, with careful selection of medicines, drying, grinding, and external application twice a day. It is not only effective for children's rhinitis, but also has good effects on other rhinitis.

3. Diet therapy :

Jujube: Japanese scholars have found that red dates contain a large amount of anti-allergic substance - cyclic adenosine monophosphate, which can only temporarily prevent the occurrence of allergic reactions. How to use: 1. Boil 10 red dates in water and drink 3 times a day. 2. Eat raw red dates, 10 grams each time, 3 times a day. 3. Add 10 red dates and 100 grams of barley into water and boil it. Take 2-3 times a day. It is better to break the jujube into pieces when decocting in water, and it is not advisable to add sugar during the decocting process.

Honeycomb: In addition to the same ingredients and functions as ordinary honey, it also contains beeswax and a small amount of propolis, which has a good effect on acute and chronic pharyngitis and rhinitis.
