What to do if a child has a cough with mycoplasma infection

Children are more likely to suffer from some diseases. Children have weaker constitutions and are more susceptible to viral infections, especially some influenza. If not treated in time, it will cause some other diseases. Mycoplasma infection in children’s cough is one of them. Let us now learn how to solve this disease.

After Mycoplasma pneumoniae infects the human body, after a 2-3 week incubation period, clinical manifestations appear. It has a slow onset, with symptoms such as sore throat, headache, fever, fatigue, muscle aches, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting in the early stages of the disease. The fever is generally moderate, and obvious respiratory symptoms appear 2-3 days later, with paroxysmal irritating coughs, which are more severe at night, with a small amount of sticky sputum or mucopurulent sputum, sometimes with blood in the sputum, and there may also be difficulty breathing and chest pain. The fever can last for 2-3 weeks, and coughing may still occur after the body temperature returns to normal.

Treatment recommendations:

1. Take azithromycin injection, one course of treatment is 5 days. After 5 days of treatment, stop for 3 days. If you still have cough, continue another course of treatment.

2. If the fever persists, you can add antipyretic drugs, the inflammation will subside and the fever will also subside.

3. After recovery, protect your child from catching a cold again. If a cold occurs, mycoplasma may reoccur.

4. After the injection, take azithromycin granules orally, one pack each time, once a day, take for 3 days and stop for 4 days. Take it for 1 month.

The above are all treatments for children's cough mycoplasma infection. In addition to drug treatment, it usually causes fever, which can also be relieved by physical cooling methods. In winter weather like this, if your child is infected, you must treat it in time to avoid causing other problems.
