How to eliminate baby's stye

How to eliminate baby's stye

Nowadays, people often stay up late to play with their mobile phones or computers, and some stay up late to study. This will cause excessive eye strain, insufficient rest, and insufficient sleep, and as a result, they will find their eyes swollen when they wake up the next morning. Some babies sleep too much during the day and do not sleep at night, and they will also have styes the next day. So, if a baby has a stye, how to get rid of it?

1. How to solve the problem of stye in baby's eyes

1. Apply local hot compress to promote suppuration. Mild inflammation can also disappear completely after hot compress.

2 Systemic and local antibiotic treatment can promote the disappearance of inflammation. Penicillin antibiotics can be taken orally, injected intramuscularly or intravenously, and they are very effective against pyogenic bacteria. Eye drops can be applied topically, generally 0.25% chloramphenicol eye drops are sufficient. If there is a lot of secretion, rifampicin eye drops can be used for better results. Children can apply chloramphenicol eye ointment after falling asleep.

3 Make an incision to drain the pus, do not wait until it breaks on its own, this can reduce the patient's pain and shorten the treatment period. When pus heads appear, do not squeeze them with your hands, because the eyelids are rich in blood vessels, the ocular veins are connected to the veins in the orbit, and to the cavernous sinuses in the skull, and the ophthalmic veins have no venous valves, so blood can flow back in all directions. Squeezing them can spread the inflammation and cause serious complications, such as orbital cellulitis, cavernous sinus thrombosis, and even sepsis, which can be life-threatening. Do not rub your eyes with dirty hands to avoid bringing bacteria into the eyes and causing infection.

4. Wiping the roots of eyelashes with alcohol cotton balls is very effective. The method is: when the disease begins - eyelid itching, redness, swelling or pain appear, immediately wipe the eyelashes with an alcohol cotton ball. Keep your eyes closed when wiping, and use an alcohol cotton ball (not too wet, squeeze out some alcohol if it is too wet) to gently rub back and forth at the root of the eyelashes a few times. Your eyes will feel hot after rubbing (do not open your eyes when hot, otherwise the alcohol will penetrate into your eyes and cause eye pain), and then open your eyes after the heat has passed. Just apply it 2 to 3 times a day to reduce swelling.

2. What are the classifications of baby styes?

1. External stye is an acute suppurative inflammation of the gland of Zeis. Initially, the eyelid margin is locally congested and swollen, and a nodule forms after about 2 to 3 days. There is obvious swelling, pain and tenderness. Later, the nodule gradually softens, and a yellow pustule forms at the root of the eyelashes, which breaks through and discharges pus and heals quickly. If the pathogen is highly toxic, it can also cause edema of the eyelids and nearby conjunctiva. The preauricular lymph nodes are swollen and tender, especially in the lateral canthus. Severe cases may have systemic symptoms such as chills and fever.

2. Internal wheat is an acute suppurative inflammation of the meibomian glands. Its clinical symptoms are not as severe as those of external hordeolum because the inflamed meibomian glands are surrounded by firm meibomian tissue. Yellow pus is often faintly visible on the surface of the congested palpebral conjunctiva, and may break through and discharge pus into the conjunctival sac on its own. There may be a slight bulge and congestion at the opening of the meibomian gland, and pus may be discharged along the meibomian gland duct. In a few cases, pus may be discharged from the skin through the duct. If the tarsal plate cannot be penetrated and the pathogen is highly toxic, the inflammation will expand, invade the entire tarsal plate tissue, and form an eyelid abscess.

When a child is found to have symptoms of stye, parents need to take the child to the doctor for treatment immediately and do not delay to avoid adverse consequences and serious harm to the child's body.
