What causes children to talk in their sleep?

Many parents don't understand why children talk in their sleep. In fact, there are reasons why children talk in their sleep. Especially when they fall asleep, singing, crying, laughing and talking in their sleep are quite common. Sometimes it is caused by being too excited during the day, but sometimes it is also caused by excessive heart fire, excessive liver fire, or mental tension.

1. Talking in sleep is also called somniloquy. Many people have this situation. They often dream after falling asleep, and talk, sing, cry or laugh in their sleep. Sometimes the sleep talking is a coherent speech, or a paragraph of narration. Some people talk in their sleep while others interrupt them, and some sleep talking is not clearly pronounced, or it is just a few unwritten words. Sleep talking can occur at any stage of sleep. Some of the content of sleep talking is often similar to usual thoughts, mostly things that people think about during the day. Frequent sleep talking is more common in children with neurosis and those with unstable neurological functions, and sleep talking often has a constitutional tendency.

2. Frequent talking in sleep is mostly caused by excessive heart fire, excessive liver fire and mental tension. According to research, falling asleep does not mean that the brain will completely rest, but instead it will become more active. After falling asleep, we will enter light sleep (Rapid Eye Movement (REM)) (when we dream) and deep sleep (Non Rapid Eye Movement (NREM)) (when eye movement slows down). The light sleep period and the deep sleep period form a cycle. The first cycle is shorter, and the second cycle is longer. In the deep sleep period of the third cycle, sleepwalking or sleep talking may occur.

3. I don’t know whether talking in sleep should be considered a pathological condition, but according to clinical experience, people who often talk in sleep usually have excessive heart fire, excessive liver fire and mental tension. The physical symptoms include bad breath, dry throat and tongue, which will improve after clearing away heat.

4. There are many reasons for talking in your sleep, and it may be caused by excessive stress or mental tension. Therefore, people who often talk in their sleep must strengthen their exercise, and at the same time pay more attention to rest and adjust the pressure brought by work and life.

5. It may be a manifestation of neurasthenia. You just need to adjust your life rhythm, relieve stress, adjust your nutrition, and increase some exercise appropriately, and the problem will gradually get better.
