How to remove dandruff on baby's scalp

There will be a lot of secretions on the baby's head after birth, but these secretions are often not wiped off because they are the protective mucous membrane of the scalp. If they are wiped off, the baby's cerebral cortex may be affected. Parents can gently rinse the scalp with clean water after the baby is a few months old. Sensitive parts must be carefully cared for to prevent possible damage.

How to Wash a Baby's Hair

1. Test the water temperature

The baby's skin is very delicate, and the sensitive scalp requires the mother's careful care. Water temperature that is too low may cause a cold, while water temperature that is too high may easily burn the scalp. Therefore, before washing the baby's hair every time, the mother can use her elbow to feel the temperature in advance, and adjust the water temperature if necessary to ensure that the temperature is comfortable and gentle enough for the baby's scalp.

2. Maintain correct posture

When washing a baby's hair, the mother can place the baby's head upside down on her arms, support the baby's little head with her palms, make the baby face herself in a slightly tilted posture, and free up her right hand to wash the baby's hair.

3. How to wash your hair

The mother frees up two fingers of her left hand and folds the baby's earlobes so that they just completely cover the baby's ear openings. Be careful when watering to avoid getting water on the baby's face or ears. After your hair is wet, take a small amount of shampoo and dilute it with warm water in your right hand, and gently massage your scalp to cleanse it. There is no fixed time requirement for washing a baby's hair. It depends on the baby's cooperation. The washing time should not be too long to prevent the water temperature from becoming cold and the baby from catching a cold.

4. Cleansing Shampoo

After rubbing the shampoo for a few minutes, use warm water to scrub the shampoo off the baby's head. In order to avoid shampoo flowing into the baby's eyes, mothers are recommended to soak the towel in warm water and slowly wipe the hair from top to bottom when washing.

5. Massage after washing

It is not advisable to use a hair dryer to dry the baby's hair after washing. It is better to wipe it with a dry towel. After washing the baby's hair, massaging the baby's head lightly can not only help the hair dry faster and soothe the baby's emotions, but also relieve the fatigue caused by the tilted posture during washing and care, and make blood circulation smoother.
