Conjunctivitis is a very common disease in daily life. It not only makes patients very uncomfortable, but also seriously affects their normal life and work. Especially when children suffer from conjunctivitis, parents and friends will be very worried, so it is particularly important to find scientific and effective treatment drugs. Oral antihistamines and corticosteroid eye drops are effective in treating this condition. 1. Conjunctivitis Conjunctival inflammatory diseases can be divided into three categories according to the severity and course of the disease: acute, subacute and chronic; according to the cause, they can be divided into bacterial, viral, chlamydial, fungal and allergic; according to the characteristics of conjunctival lesions, they can be divided into acute follicular conjunctivitis, chronic follicular conjunctivitis, membranous and pseudomembranous conjunctivitis, etc. 2. What eye drops should be used for children with conjunctivitis? When the conjunctiva is irritated, it becomes red and often accompanied by discharge. In bacterial conjunctivitis, the discharge may be thick, white, or creamy. In viral or allergic conjunctivitis, the discharge is often watery. The eyelids may swell and become itchy, and itching may be more severe in allergic conjunctivitis. Because conjunctivitis often accompanies a cold or allergic reaction, it is generally easier to diagnose. However, sometimes conjunctivitis can look similar to iritis or acute glaucoma, a more serious eye disease that requires a differential diagnosis by a doctor. In iritis and acute glaucoma, the site of hyperemia is mainly near the periphery of the cornea. Although conjunctivitis may cause a burning sensation, the pain is generally mild; whereas iritis and acute glaucoma are often accompanied by significant pain. Conjunctivitis rarely affects vision unless discharge temporarily covers the cornea. treat Treatment of conjunctivitis varies depending on the cause. The eyelids can be gently washed with clean water and a clean towel to remove secretions. If it is bacterial conjunctivitis, antibiotic eye drops or ointment can be used. (Such as ofloxacin eye drops or ointment) Doctors sometimes use a cotton swab to wipe off a little secretion and send it to the laboratory for examination, and then adjust the medication based on the test results. Corticosteroid eye drops are generally not needed for conjunctivitis. If herpes virus conjunctivitis is suspected, do not use corticosteroid eye drops as they may make the condition worse. Antibiotics are not effective for allergic and viral conjunctivitis. If it is allergic conjunctivitis, oral antihistamines can relieve itching and irritation symptoms. If this is ineffective, corticosteroid eye drops can also be tried. Because infectious conjunctivitis is highly contagious, patients should wash their hands before and after washing their eyes or applying medication. In addition, patients should not touch the affected eye and then touch the other eye. Towels and bath towels used to clean the affected eye should be separated from other towels. |
