How to deal with the hard lumps where babies get injections?

In the process of treating various diseases, infants inevitably need injections, which can quickly inject the medicine into the infant's blood vessels, speed up the effect of the medicine, and promote the infant's recovery. However, after giving the baby an injection, parents often find lumps at the injection site. Generally, the lumps can be treated by hot compresses, external application of magnesium sulfate solution, external application of potato slices, external application of decoction of mugwort leaves, and external application of turpentine oil!

1. Hot compress

Hot compress can promote blood circulation in the nodule area, accelerate the absorption of the medicine, and play a role in dissipating the nodule. The sooner you apply heat, the better the effect. The method is to fold a towel or gauze into a square, soak it in 60-70 degree hot water, wring it out slightly and apply it to the nodular area, change it every 5 minutes, continue for 20-30 minutes, at least 1-2 times a day. The effect will be better if you do massage at the same time.

2. External application of magnesium sulfate solution

The purpose is to relax local muscles, dilate blood vessels, accelerate blood flow, promote the absorption of medicine, and soften and dissipate lumps. The method is to pour 50 ml of 50% magnesium sulfate solution (bought at the pharmacy) into a bowl, add 10 ml of hot water, then soak gauze or a small towel (use 3 pieces alternately) in the solution, wring it out slightly, and apply it to the nodule. It is best to cover it with a hot water bottle to keep it warm. Change it every 5 minutes, continue for 15-20 minutes, 2-3 times a day.

3. Apply potato chips

Cut a fresh potato into slices, each slice is about 0.5-1 cm thick and slightly larger than the lump. Cover the lump with potato slices, then secure it with two strips of tape. Remove them after 24 hours and the lump will be significantly smaller. Apply another piece the next day. Generally, the lumps can disappear after a few days of external application.

4. Apply decoction of mugwort leaves

Mugwort has the effects of regulating qi and blood, expelling cold and dampness, warming the meridians and relieving pain. Method: Add 30 grams of moxa leaves to 300 ml of water and boil it. When it is warm, soak a towel or gauze and apply it to the nodule. Change it every 3-5 minutes. Apply hot compress for 30 minutes each time, twice a day.

5. Apply turpentine oil externally

Turpentine has the effects of relaxing muscles and tendons, promoting blood circulation and reducing swelling. Method: Take 1 part turpentine and add 8 parts warm water, soak gauze and apply it to the hardened area. It is best to cover the gauze with a hot water bottle for 5-10 minutes, 1-2 times a day.
