How to treat hemangioma on a child’s face?

Hemangioma is a disease that is most likely to occur in infants and young children, and most of them are born with it. If the hemangioma appears in other parts of the body, the harm is usually not great, but if the hemangioma appears on the baby's face, the harm will be greater. After all, the human face is very important and sensitive. So how to treat hemangioma on the baby's face?

Treatment of hemangioma on the face of a child:

1. Use hardening liquid and inject it into the hemangioma to cause physical and chemical changes in the tissue inside, which will then cause tissue necrosis or ossification, and eventually form a scar to achieve the purpose of treatment.

2. Use radiation to irradiate the hemangioma, and use these rays to cause necrosis of the tissue cells inside, thereby achieving the purpose of treatment.

3. Use physical therapy, use the physical effects of low temperature to freeze the tissue inside the hemangioma, and then kill the cells inside to achieve the purpose of treatment.

4. Utilizing the principle of high temperature, the tissue inside the hemangioma is burned during surgery to destroy the pathological tissue inside, thereby achieving the purpose of treatment.

5. Therapeutic principle: The second-generation new photosensitizer (Hemoporfin) is injected into the body through the intravenous route. Immediately after intravenous injection, Hemoporfin forms a peak concentration in the blood and is rapidly absorbed by vascular endothelial cells, while the epidermal cells absorb very little. Therefore, the distribution of photosensitizer forms an obvious concentration difference between vascular endothelial cells and epidermal cells. At this time, light of a specific wavelength that can penetrate superficially and be selectively absorbed by vascular endothelial cells is irradiated, causing heimporfin to produce phototoxic substances such as singlet oxygen, and the dilated and malformed capillary network in the affected area that is rich in heimporfin is selectively destroyed. The normal epidermis covering the dilated and malformed capillary network is not damaged because it does not contain heimporfin, and the normal deep dermis tissue under the dilated and malformed capillary network is protected because the laser penetration is shallow and it is difficult to reach an effective excitation amount.

Photosensitizers previously developed in China, such as YHpD (photoporphyrin) and HpD (hematoporphyrin derivative), are all mixtures of multiple components with complex components, making it difficult to achieve stable and standardized quality control. They are also slowly excreted from the body, and the photosensitivity reaction of the skin lasts for 1 to 3 months after use, and even up to 6 months in some patients. This brings great inconvenience to post-treatment care and the patient's work and life.

Hemoporfin (HMME, hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether) is rapidly distributed in the body, cleared quickly, and not easily accumulated, thus overcoming the main side effect of photodynamic therapy - persistent phototoxic reaction of normal tissues. Patients only need to avoid light for a few days. It greatly facilitates clinical treatment and further improves photodynamic therapy.

It is best to treat hemangioma as early as possible. There are mainly the above methods for its treatment. Patients can choose the appropriate treatment method according to their actual situation.
