How to treat a child's nasal congestion and runny nose

Children's nasal congestion and runny nose are actually common cold symptoms. So if you want to treat it effectively, you must first go to the cold treatment studio. Once the cold is treated, these symptoms will naturally gradually ease. However, when children have nasal congestion and runny nose, you cannot use medicine indiscriminately. You should give the baby more water and apply a hot towel on the baby's forehead to help them clean the nasal cavity.

1. First, cure the cold. If the baby has a stuffy and runny nose because of a cold, the mother should first cooperate with the doctor to treat the baby's cold in time. Once the cold is cured, these symptoms will generally disappear.

2. Use medication under the guidance of a doctor. If your baby has severe nasal congestion, cries, and has difficulty eating and sleeping, you need to take your baby to see a doctor and seek help. According to the doctor's advice, drug therapy is used, usually fumigation of drugs is performed to promote nasal ventilation.

3. Boil the onion roots and onion whites in water and drink it. This is a folk remedy I heard from the elders, and it really works when some people drink it. Just wash the roots of the green onions including the roots, boil water together with the onion whites, and feed it to the baby. It can effectively relieve symptoms such as nasal congestion and runny nose.

4. Let your baby drink more water and some fruit juice. We all know that fruits are rich in vitamins, which can enhance immunity and relieve colds. But the baby is too small to eat easily, so the mother can make some juice from fresh fruits or squeeze some juice for the baby to drink.

5. Apply hot compress to your baby. Dip a clean towel in hot water, squeeze it dry and apply it to the baby's forehead, or directly to the nose, which will feel more comfortable. However, you must pay attention to the temperature when applying hot compress. Adults should try it first and be careful not to burn the baby.

Smoking and kneading. If your baby has a severe nasal congestion and is unable to breathe, which makes him very uncomfortable, in addition to seeing a doctor and taking medicine, you can also try to fumigate the baby's nose with hot water, or wash your hands with warm water and gently rub both sides of the baby's nose, which can also relieve the symptoms.
