Parents should learn to judge the symptoms of worms in children’s stomachs!

If personal hygiene is not taken care of, children are very likely to contract ascariasis, which will lead to worms in their stomachs. Once roundworms start to appear in the stomach, children will have symptoms such as loss of appetite, diarrhea, and teeth grinding. The most serious thing is that roundworms can cause children to incompletely absorb nutrients, resulting in slow growth and development. Therefore, when parents suspect that their children have ascariasis, they must take them to the hospital for treatment in time. They can also use some dietary therapy methods to expel ascariasis. In addition, ascariasis can be prevented and avoided in many cases. As long as you pay attention to hygiene and develop good living habits, you can reduce the chance of developing the disease. Next, I will introduce to you the symptoms, treatment and prevention methods of worms in children’s stomachs.

1. Symptoms

Most patients with ascariasis have no symptoms. Some often have paroxysmal diarrhea around the navel, some have poor appetite, some have good appetite but gradually become thinner, some have diarrhea, and their stools contain undigested food and ascaris; some have low fever, irritability, easily wake up at night, and grind their teeth. Ascaris often causes serious complications. Diseases such as intestinal obstruction, acute appendicitis, biliary ascariasis, acute cholangitis, and acute peritonitis may all be caused by ascaris.

2. Treatment Methods

1. Choose drugs rationally

There are many drugs for treating ascariasis, which are highly effective and have few side effects, such as levamisole, mebendazole, tetramisole, etc. People with ascariasis can take these drugs under the guidance of a doctor.

Since ascaris generally survives in the human body for about a year, if reinfection can be avoided, ascariasis can "heal itself" in about a year.

2. Two methods to eliminate roundworms

Take 15 grams of pomegranate bark, wash it and put it into a pot, add 500 grams of water, boil it into a thick juice of about half a bowl, take it on an empty stomach in the early morning, it is very effective in removing roundworms.

Take 2 tablespoons of vinegar once every 6 hours for 2 days to expel roundworms.

3. Prevention methods

(1) Cultivate good hygiene habits in children. Children should not eat unwashed fruits and vegetables, should not drink raw water, should wash their hands before and after meals, and should not urinate or defecate anywhere. Parents should thoroughly wash and dry their children's clothes and bedding.

(2) Ascaris eggs can easily hide in the cracks between children’s nails. Parents should trim their children's nails regularly and educate them not to bite their nails or suck their fingers to avoid infection.

(3) Eliminate flies, cockroaches, etc. and prevent children from eating food that has been crawled over by them. These insects can bring roundworm eggs, bacteria, etc. to the surface of food, thereby spreading digestive tract diseases.

(4) Actively detect and treat ascariasis and control the source of infection. Especially in kindergartens, collective anthelmintics can be used for universal treatment to prevent children from infecting each other. In addition, the rate of reinfection of ascariasis is extremely high, and parents should prevent their children from reinfection.
