How to treat hypospadias in children?

When a child has hypospadias at the urethral opening, it is actually a deformity. Parents need to pay more attention to this kind of phenomenon. If not handled properly, it may cause psychological abnormalities in the child. If parents want to treat diseases such as hypospadias in children, they should take their children to a regular hospital for examination in time and receive corresponding treatment according to the condition.

According to the current medical level, the treatment of hypospadias has achieved relatively satisfactory results. The treatment of hypospadias mainly includes two aspects: psychological and deformity correction.

Psychological aspect: Once such deformity is discovered after a baby is born, medical staff and childcare workers have the obligation to keep it confidential, and must not make irresponsible remarks or even say immoral words to hurt the child and the parents' feelings. In daily life, you should dress like a boy. Encourage children to develop in other aspects, cooperate with doctors' treatment, and overcome the disease.

Deformity correction: surgical correction is the only effective method. Generally, surgical correction should be completed before school entry, because the penis has grown larger at this time, the child can actively cooperate with the surgery, and psychological damage after school entry can be avoided.

There are many types of corrective surgeries, and different surgical methods are selected according to specific cases and medical conditions. They can be roughly divided into two categories.

1. Staged surgery: The first stage is to correct the curvature of the penis and move the foreskin from the dorsal side to the ventral side to provide conditions for urethral reconstruction surgery. The current surgery was performed half a year after the first surgery. A new urethra was constructed using the foreskin on the ventral side of the penis, with the urethra opening at the head of the penis. If the operation is successful, the baby can urinate upright and be able to have children in adulthood.

2. One-time surgery: This is the routine surgical method used by the hospital. In one operation, the correction of penile curvature is completed, the foreskin accumulation on the dorsal side of the penis is eliminated, the urethra is replaced by the bladder mucosa, and the urethra opens at the normal position of the glans penis. This type of surgery is more in line with normal physiological structure and the appearance is similar to that of ordinary people. Patients can avoid the pain of multiple surgeries, with fewer complications, a high success rate and more satisfactory therapeutic effects.
