Nowadays, more and more teenagers are starting to wear glasses, mainly because there are too many electronic products, and children’s eyes are very easily affected, resulting in myopia. In fact, many primary school students suffer from pseudomyopia. If pseudomyopia is not treated, it will develop into real myopia. Therefore, when parents find signs of myopia in their primary school students, they should take them to the hospital for examination in time. 1. What is pseudomyopia? Myopia is generally divided into pseudomyopia, true myopia and mixed myopia. Pseudomyopia is caused by excessive use of the eyes, which leads to continuous contraction and spasm of the ciliary muscle, increased thickness of the lens, and blurred vision. Pseudomyopia is functional myopia. It can be treated by medication, acupuncture, ear acupuncture and physical therapy equipment, or by the patient's own eye muscle strengthening exercises to relax muscles, relieve fatigue and restore vision to normal. If pseudomyopia is not relieved in time, the eyeball will be compressed by tense extraocular muscles for a long time, which will eventually cause the eye axis to become enlarged and become true myopia. 2. How to treat pseudomyopia There are many methods for treating pseudomyopia at present, the main method is to relax and adjust to achieve the purpose of treating false myopia and preventing real myopia. Commonly used methods are: 1. Relaxation and adjustment (1) Mydriasis therapy: Use ciliary muscle paralytics to dilate the pupil. Currently, eye drops are used once a day. (2) Wearing a convex lens method: First, let the patient wear a convex lens with a relatively high degree, look at the eye chart 5 meters away to relax the ciliary muscle, and then adjust the degree of the convex lens until the vision reaches basically normal. (3) Distance viewing method: After studying or writing for 1-2 hours, look out at the natural scenery to relax the ciliary muscles. Keep doing eye exercises 3-4 times a day. 2. Use methods to increase the excitability of the visual center and improve visual function: Direct current treatment for myopia, ear acupuncture, plum blossom needle, acupoint massage, acupoint conduction, qigong therapy and cold water bath therapy, etc. It mainly increases the excitability of the visual center and optic nerve cells of the brain, which can improve both far and near vision. 3. Improve the learning environment: When reading and writing, be sure to maintain a 30 cm distance and correct posture. Pay attention to natural light and ensure adequate lighting indoors. Combine work and rest, change bad study habits, take a 10-15 minute break after every hour of reading, and do not read while lying down or walking. Pay attention to strengthening physical exercise. 4. Myopic patients are generally deficient in chromium and zinc. They should eat more foods rich in zinc. Foods such as soybeans, almonds, seaweed, kelp, lamb, yellow croaker, milk powder, tea, meat, beef, liver, etc. contain a lot of zinc and chromium, which can be increased in appropriate amounts. |
