What causes children to snore when they sleep? Mothers must know

Snoring is a common phenomenon in daily life. Most adult men and women snore. Some are due to overwork, while others are due to breathing problems. But why do children snore when they sleep? Most mothers don’t know much about this. In fact, there are many reasons for children's snoring. If the snoring is even, it is caused by fatigue and generally does not require treatment. If the snoring is intermittent and uneven, it is caused by obstructed breathing when falling asleep. Mothers must pay attention to this.

1. What causes children to snore when sleeping?

The problem of children snoring while sleeping can be big or small, but there are reasons for it, so there must be some reasons that we have not discovered in time that cause children to snore while sleeping. Parents must not be careless when they find their children snoring while sleeping. They should pay attention to the cause, because some diseases can cause children to snore while sleeping, and may even cause sleep breathing disorders.

Snoring, also known as snoring, can be divided into benign snoring and malignant snoring. Benign snoring is usually caused by physical fatigue. The snoring is even and generally does not require treatment and will heal itself after a good rest. Malignant snoring is characterized by intermittent and uneven snoring, and respiratory arrest, which is usually caused by obstructed breathing while falling asleep.

There are many reasons why children snore, such as genetics. If the parents have jaw abnormalities and narrow airways, the children will usually have the same symptoms, so breathing will be obstructed during sleep and cause snoring. Usually, the main reason why children snore while sleeping is due to lesions in some glands around the child's respiratory tract. For example, the tonsils or adenoids will swell when they are inflamed. When the child falls asleep, the muscles relax and the swollen glands will temporarily block the airway. Obstructed ventilation makes it impossible to breathe through the nose while sleeping, and the child breathes through the mouth. As a result, the root of the tongue falls back, and snoring sounds are made with the breathing.

2. How to prevent children from snoring while sleeping

When parents find that their children snore while sleeping, they should seek early treatment, pay attention to a balanced daily diet, and maintain a regular schedule. If a child snores and has difficulty breathing while sleeping, parents need to observe the child's condition carefully and take him to the hospital for a check-up if necessary. It is usually caused by glandular lesions and can be treated through surgery. Such as tonsillectomy, gland scraping, upper and lower jaw plastic surgery, and nasal surgery are all effective measures to treat children's breathing disorders.

In daily life, mothers can also pay attention to the following points:

1. Pay attention to a balanced diet for your child. For a 10-month-old baby, you should add complementary foods in time, increase the diversity of food, and feed him/her reasonably.

2. Strengthening children's physical fitness can also reduce the chance of respiratory infections. Many mothers are afraid that their babies will be exposed to the sun, so they choose to take their babies out for a walk in the evening when the sun sets. In fact, it is better for babies to get more sun exposure, and the air is fresher in the morning. Don't always hold the baby in your arms, let the baby do more crawling games, which can also make the baby's body stronger.

3. Pay attention to the baby's nose to see if there are any foreign objects blocking the nostrils. Clean up the mucus and other secretions in time to keep the nose unobstructed.

4. Change the baby's sleeping position. If the baby snores while sleeping, you can change the baby's sleeping position or raise the head appropriately.

If your baby's snoring symptoms are severe, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time. If it is due to gland inflammation, surgical treatment can be chosen. Pay attention to children's nutrition and physical fitness, prevent obesity caused by overnutrition, and regulate their work and rest schedules, and reduce intense activities at night.
