Why does my baby sleep lightly?

Why does my baby sleep lightly?

Everyone knows that sleep has a very important impact on the body, and because babies are in the growth stage, sleep is even more important for them. However, mothers have found that babies' sleep is very shallow, and they are often awakened by a little noise. Why is the baby's sleep so shallow?

1. Baby's sleep time:

Your baby's sleep time depends largely on his or her weight and feeding needs. The lighter the baby, the more frequently he or she needs to feed, and the less sleep he or she will need.

2. Baby's sleeping position:

Sleeping posture Babies spend most of the day sleeping, but they cannot control and adjust their sleeping posture by themselves, so mothers need to help them choose a good sleeping posture.

Generally speaking, sleeping positions can be divided into three types, namely, supine, prone and side-lying, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

3. The baby sleeps on his back:

The supine sleeping position is often accepted and liked by most parents, because in this sleeping position the baby's head can turn freely and breathing is smoother.

But sleeping on your back has a disadvantage: the head is easily deformed, and the back of the baby's head may become flat after a few months, which is related to sleeping on your back for a long time.

4. Baby sleeping on his stomach:

Sleeping on the prone position is a posture often adopted in foreign countries, especially in Europe and the United States. They believe that the baby's blood oxygen partial pressure is 5 to 10 mmHg higher when lying prone than when lying supine. This means that the lung function is better when lying prone than when lying supine.

In addition, the baby will not choke on the trachea when spitting up milk, and the head will not become flattened when sleeping. The disadvantage of this sleeping position is that because the baby cannot lift his head by himself, it is easy for the nose and mouth to be blocked when sleeping on his stomach, affecting the breathing function and causing suffocation.
