Why do children's ears bleed?

Why do children's ears bleed?

We all know that our facial features are very important to us, not only because they determine our appearance, but also because they are closely related to our daily lives. However, some mothers have found that their babies like to pull their ears, and even cause their ears to bleed. So why do children's ears bleed? Today, let me give you an explanation.

1. Unbalanced development of the inner ear

The "inner ear" is responsible for maintaining the balance of the human body. If the inner ears on both sides do not develop uniformly, people will feel ear discomfort, just like we feel something in our ears when the plane just lands. Mild abnormalities in the balance of the inner ears can also manifest as motion sickness. Generally, this situation will improve on its own with growth and development. Older children can play on swivel chairs or swings more often to help the inner ear mature.

Some babies often scratch their external auditory canals. This is mostly caused by inner ear imbalance and not a serious disease. Parents do not need to worry too much.

2. Caused by upper respiratory tract infection

If your baby pulls one ear or slaps one cheek and has symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection such as a fever, it may be caused by a cold, not necessarily an infection inside the ear. This is because the increased pressure in the ears during a cold can cause pain in your baby. If parents are really worried, they can ask an experienced otolaryngologist to check and confirm with an otoscope.

3. Caused by otitis media

Since breastfeeding babies often drink milk while lying down, if they are fed too much or too quickly, they may choke and the milk can easily enter the middle ear and cause otitis media. In addition, when an infant suffers from an upper respiratory tract infection, bacteria from the nasopharynx can easily enter the middle ear along the Eustachian tube pharyngeal opening, which can also cause middle ear inflammation.

The above are some possible reasons for children’s ear bleeding that I want to introduce to you today. You can learn about them. I hope my sharing will be helpful to you. In fact, among our five senses, the most taboo is problems with the eyes and ears, so if you have any discomfort, you must seek timely treatment.
