What can’t babies with tracheitis eat? Beware of cold foods

Adults with bronchitis must learn to avoid certain foods, not to mention babies. For children with bronchitis, spicy and irritating foods such as onions and garlic must not be eaten. In addition, the diet must be nutritionally balanced.

1. Avoid spicy foods such as chili peppers, garlic, leeks, onions and certain strong condiments such as curry powder, pepper, mustard, etc., which can irritate the trachea and damage the mucosa, causing local congestion and edema, causing choking and coughing, and even causing mucosal rupture and bleeding, resulting in hemoptysis, which can aggravate bronchiectasis.

2. Avoid eating fried, deep-fried, and unfermented pasta because these foods are difficult to digest. After eating, they hinder the spleen and stomach from functioning, generate heat and bloating, consume body fluids, and help produce dampness and phlegm, which can aggravate cough symptoms.

3. Avoid cold food: Patients with chronic bronchitis have a long course of illness, and most of them have insufficient yang energy in the spleen, lungs, and kidneys, and react more strongly to cold food. Because coldness is stagnant and causes contraction, eating too much cold food can cause bronchial spasm, which is not conducive to the excretion of secretions, thereby aggravating cough and asthma and making it difficult to cough up phlegm.

4. Avoid eating seafood and irritating foods: Allergic reaction is one of the causes of chronic bronchitis, and fish, shrimp, salmon, yellow croaker, hairtail, shad, crab, eggs, fresh milk or dairy products are common allergens. Therefore, patients with chronic bronchitis should avoid eating this type of food. In addition to this, you should also avoid eating alcohol, eggs, pumpkin, mustard greens, rice dregs, Chinese mustard, and fermented glutinous rice.

The dietary principle for patients with bronchitis should be to supplement necessary protein in a timely manner, such as eggs, chicken, lean meat, milk, animal liver, fish, soy products, etc. In cold seasons, you should supplement some high-calorie meat and warm foods to enhance your ability to resist the cold. You can eat lamb, dog meat, milk, animal liver, fish, soy products, etc. in moderation.
