If a child has wind in his stomach, parents must learn to find a way to solve the problem. It may be that the baby has inhaled too much air, or the baby has eaten the wrong food and caused bloating, or the feeding posture is incorrect, etc. So what should be done respectively? 1. Swallowing too much air: When the baby is fed with a bottle, if he sucks too quickly, he may inhale too much air. If the nipple hole of the bottle is not of appropriate size or the bottle is tilted, air may be inhaled into the baby's stomach through the gap in the nipple. Excessive crying by the baby may also easily lead to bloating. 2. Indigestion: The accumulation of feces in the intestines causes the proliferation of gas-producing bad bacteria, or milk protein allergy, lactose intolerance, enteritis, etc. cause poor digestion and absorption, which easily produces a large amount of gas. 3. Gastrointestinal motility disorders: They are divided into purely functional ones called "pseudo-intestinal obstruction" and "congenital megacolon" in which the gastrointestinal tract truly lacks ganglia. Such problems vary in severity, ranging from chronic constipation and bloating to severe vomiting, and can be temporary or lifelong. Ways to prevent your baby’s bloating: 1. Try to avoid eating foods that can easily cause bloating. For breastfed babies, if the child's symptoms continue to fluctuate while the mother is on a diet, breast milk is not the cause of the child's bloating. But if the mother's child's bloating is relieved after a moderate diet, then the mother should stay away from those bloating-causing foods. 2. If your child is fed with formula milk, you can try changing to another brand of milk powder. If your child cannot absorb lactose, then when choosing milk powder, you should pay special attention to the nutritional formula of the milk powder on the outer packaging, and try to choose formula milk powder that does not contain lactose, soy or is low in allergenicity. Of course, changing milk powder may not produce immediate results. You may need to wait about two weeks to see the effects. 3. Don’t wait until your baby is so hungry that he cries very hard before feeding him. If the child cries very hard, parents should first comfort the child. 4. The feeding posture should be correct. When feeding, keep the baby's face facing the breast so that his mouth covers the entire nipple and areola. When using a bottle to feed, if you hear a bubbling sound or see milk flowing out from the corners of the baby's mouth, it means that the baby may not be holding the nipple tightly. You can place the baby's head at 45 degrees and keep the bottle tilted accordingly so that the nipple is always full of milk. In addition, the size of the nipple hole should also be appropriate to the baby's age. |
