What causes hair loss in children? How to prevent hair loss

Every adult will experience hair loss to a greater or lesser extent in life due to the stress of life. Especially for many female friends, they will lose a lot of hair whether they wash or comb their hair. But I believe everyone has also discovered that many children have also experienced hair loss in recent years, which has made many parents anxious. What causes hair loss in children and how to prevent it?

What causes hair loss in children?

The first thing to consider is nutrition. We hope that our children have a balanced diet. The so-called balance means more soups, but you must pay attention to eating some fish, shrimps, etc. In addition to the lack of nutrients, the following situations may also cause hair loss:

1. Telogen effluvium. Telogen is another major cause of hair loss in children, but it often goes unnoticed by many parents. Telogen effluvium in children is usually caused by illness, such as fever, surgery, excessive weight loss, etc. Even excessive stress can cause telogen effluvium, which usually causes sudden and massive hair loss after 6 weeks to 3 months.

2. Scalp ringworm (tinea capitis). Scalp ringworm is one of the more common causes of hair loss and is easy to spot: there are usually red, circular lesions, hair loss, and excessive scaling, as well as an itchy scalp.

3. Bacterial infection. Bacterial infections can also cause hair loss, with symptoms similar to scalp ringworm, but they are not scalp ringworm and are usually caused by Staphylococcus aureus.

4. Traction alopecia. If your child often wears tight braids or ponytails, it may also cause hair loss. In infancy, the baby's head is often rubbed against the crib, which can also cause hair loss.

Daily intake of protein is a hair growth promoter. Good proteins include fresh fish, meat, eggs, soy products, milk, etc. These protein-rich foods can form various amino acids after digestion and absorption by the gastrointestinal tract. After entering the blood, they are absorbed by the hair papilla at the root of the hair and synthesized into keratin. After keratinization, they become our hair. This process fully demonstrates that protein is the foundation of beautiful hair.

Hair loss and dandruff are common symptoms of vitamin A deficiency. Carrots, spinach, lettuce leaves, almonds, kernels, mangoes and other fruits and vegetables contain more vitamin A, while animal liver, fish, shrimp and eggs are also rich in vitamin A. Vitamin B can promote scalp metabolism. Finally, trace elements such as copper and iron also play an important role in maintaining the health of hair. Copper deficiency can cause hair to lighten in color. Iron plays an important role in ensuring the oxygen content of blood delivered to the hair. Green vegetables are rich in alkaline inorganic salts (calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, etc.), which can neutralize the acidic substances in the body that are not conducive to hair growth and turn them into non-toxic substances that are excreted from the body.
