What to do if your child has roundworms in his stomach

It is normal for children to have roundworms in their stomachs, because roundworms are the largest parasitic nematodes in the human intestine. Regarding the issue of what to do if a child has roundworms in his stomach, you can give the child anthelmintics. In addition to taking anthelmintics regularly, you can also eat some anthelmintic foods to do a good job of prevention.

1. Take anthelmintics

If your baby is infected with roundworms, parents should give him/her adequate deworming treatment according to his/her age under the guidance of a doctor. Deworming should be done when the baby is in good health. Generally, it is best to take the medicine before going to bed to reduce side effects. In addition, parents should not deworm their babies privately, because if deworming is done when the baby has abdominal pain, the roundworms may run around in the abdomen, causing complications of the seal.

2. Anti-insect food

Pumpkin: Pumpkin contains vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin C, carrots and protein, and has the effect of expelling roundworms.

Rapeseed: Rapeseed is rich in vitamins and proteins, and has the effects of disinfection, detoxification, and promoting blood circulation. It has a good therapeutic effect on painful swelling, erysipelas, bloody diarrhea, and ascariasis obstruction, and also helps to enhance the body's immune ability.

3. Prevention

(1) Cultivate good hygiene habits in children. Children should not eat unwashed fruits and vegetables, drink raw water, wash their hands before and after meals, and not urinate or defecate anywhere. Parents should thoroughly wash and dry children’s clothes and bedding.

(2) Ascaris eggs can easily hide in the cracks of children’s nails. Parents should trim their children's nails regularly and educate them not to bite their nails or suck their fingers to avoid infection.

(3) Eliminate flies, cockroaches, etc. and prevent children from eating food that has been crawled over by them. These insects can bring roundworm eggs, bacteria, etc. to the surface of food, thereby spreading digestive tract diseases.

(4) Actively detect and treat ascariasis and control the source of infection. Especially in kindergartens, collective anthelmintics can be used for universal treatment to prevent children from infecting each other. In addition, the rate of reinfection of ascariasis is extremely high, and parents should prevent their children from reinfection.
