The child has a blue birthmark, which can be treated with laser

Generally speaking, the most common birthmark on children is blue birthmark, but most of them will gradually fade away as the child grows older. If they cannot fade away and have affected the appearance, you can also take the child to a regular hospital for removal.

Blue birthmark

The blue birthmark we often talk about in life may be Ota's nevus, which is very common among Oriental peoples. It is a pigmented birthmark characterized by a blue-brown nevus around the eye area.

Causes

The formation of blue birthmarks in children is a phenomenon caused by capillary dilation or the superficial location of some capillaries. This kind of skin is thin and sensitive, and the face becomes redder when it is too cold, too hot, or emotionally excited. It usually appears as clear water patches, which not only affects the appearance but also has a great impact on the child's health, so everyone must take the child for treatment in time.

Birthmark characteristics

About half of children are diagnosed with the disease at birth, but some are diagnosed during childhood or adolescence. It usually appears as patches composed of brown, gray and blue spots with unclear boundaries. The spots within the lesions can be solid in color or a combination of the above colors, and the color depth varies. The lesions in some patients tend to grow slowly.

Treatment

In laser treatment of pigmented birthmarks such as Nevus of Ota, after laser irradiation, the laser is selectively absorbed by the pigmented diseased tissue, generating extremely high temperatures inside the diseased tissue, and the pigment cells are instantly split into fragments, which are swallowed up by the human body's phagocytes and excreted from the body. As pigment cells are continuously cleared, the patient's facial skin will gradually return to normal skin color.
