What should children eat to be good for their eyes? Eat more fish and vitamins

Children's myopia has become more and more serious in recent years, which is mainly related to the popularity of electronic products. Children's myopia can be treated by eating some foods as an auxiliary treatment. Eating blueberries and grapes is good for children's vision recovery, or eating more fish.

People with myopia should eat less high-sugar foods. Eating too much sugar will produce a certain amount of acid in the blood. The acid neutralizes the salts in the body, especially calcium, and is reduced in the blood, causing a decrease in blood calcium. It will affect the toughness of the eyeball wall, elongate the eye axis, and promote the occurrence and development of myopia. To prevent myopia, the food you choose should mainly supplement the nutrients necessary for the ciliary muscle and sclera in the eye, increase the strength of the ciliary muscle, restore its inherent function; strengthen the toughness of the sclera, enhance its resistance to the outside world, and prevent it from continuing to expand.

1. Supplement protein

Protein is the basic substance for human life activities and is composed of more than 20 kinds of amino acids. As for the sclera tissue, it can become the tough outer shell of the eyeball. Although the sclera has a certain degree of toughness, it has poor resistance to external forces. It will be forced to stretch, causing the eyeball to gradually become longer. Partial eating is not good for your health, and it is even more harmful to myopia. Foods such as fish, meat, milk and eggs are rich in protein.

2. Supplement calcium and phosphorus

Calcium and phosphorus are the main components of the sclera, and their content is relatively high, playing a major role in enhancing the toughness of the sclera. At the same time, vitamin D should be adequately supplied to promote the absorption and utilization of calcium. This helps enhance development and prevent myopia. Foods such as animal bones such as beef bones and pork bones are rich in calcium, which is most easily absorbed and utilized by the human body. Other foods such as milk, bean products, clams, crabs, dried shrimps, eggs, shepherd's purse, rapeseed, peanuts, and jujube also have high calcium content; while foods such as milk, eggs, fish, meat, vegetables, whole grains, seaweed, beans, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds have relatively high phosphorus content.

3. Supplement zinc and chromium

Zinc and chromium are also essential trace elements for the human body. Zinc, in particular, has more effects on intraocular tissues. Myopic patients are generally deficient in zinc and chromium, so it is very necessary for them to supplement foods containing zinc and chromium. Foods such as soybeans, oatmeal, almonds, seaweed, kelp, lamb, steak, yellow croaker, anchovies, oysters, milk powder, cocoa powder, and tea contain high levels of zinc; yeast, beef, cereals, meat, liver, and cheese contain high levels of chromium.

4. Vitamin supplements

Vitamins are necessary to maintain normal growth and development, and play an important role in regulating the body's physiological functions. Myopia is often treated with vitamins A, B1, B2, D, C and E. This is because these vitamins can improve the nutrition and metabolism of the retina, optic nerve and other tissues in the eye, and also have a certain effect on enhancing the toughness of the sclera and the strength of the ciliary muscle. Among them, vitamin D can promote the absorption of calcium and phosphorus, maintain the absorption of calcium and phosphorus in the body and their balanced ratio. Therefore, children should be supplied with sufficient amounts of calcium and vitamin D as much as possible. Vitamins cannot be synthesized in the body and must be supplied by food. Animal liver, milk, eggs, cod liver oil, etc. have high content of vitamins. Fresh fruit contains a large amount of vitamin C, and beans, peanuts, etc. also have certain content.

5. Foods that benefit the liver and kidneys

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the main cause of myopia is liver and kidney deficiency and loss of qi and blood, so foods and medicines that have the effect of nourishing the liver and kidneys can be used for treatment. Foods such as meat, eggs, liver, kidney, crucian carp, yellow croaker, cuttlefish, mussels, sea cucumber, shrimp, turtle, as well as longan, lychee, grapes, walnut meat, mulberry, and jujube all have the above effects.
