New parenting concept: Be a new mother who shows weakness

Lack of responsibility, inability to be self-reliant, indifference to others...these labels are often attached to some children and young people. A survey on the self-care ability of private primary school students found that 68% of parents or nannies pack their children's school bags every day, 82% wash their children's feet, 79% help them put on clothes, and as many as 95% drive to pick up their children every day. When parents take the place of their children and act like supermen who can do everything, they will limit their children's growth and deprive them of space for growth.

1. Ask clever questions to inspire

Mothers should not be know-it-alls for their children. For example, why do flowers smell good, why is grass green, why do birds sing so beautifully? When children ask these questions out of curiosity, mothers don’t have to answer them right away, let alone turn on the computer to use a search engine. At this time, you might as well ask your child with a curious look: "Mom doesn't quite know, why don't you tell me what you think?" If the child can't say it, take out "100,000 Whys", or take the child to a bookstore or library, and teach him how to find the answers himself.

2. Pretend to be forgetful and often act "stupid"

Where did the car go, which piece of clothing should be worn, what should be put in the schoolbag? If the child often cannot find things or cannot remember what to do, the mother must not rush to help. Let the child recall and handle it by himself. Sometimes, mom can even take the initiative to pretend to be stupid. For example, when telling a story before bed, the mother can say, "Where did we put Grimm's Fairy Tales yesterday? Baby, can you help me get it over here?" "Smart baby must know where the book is. Why don't you look in the bookcase?" Children all have a desire to prove themselves, and at this time they will most likely happily look for the book.

3. Being lazy about household chores

For small things like turning on and off lights, opening and closing doors, and helping to get dishes and chopsticks, mothers can be "lazy" and let their children do them. When the food is served on the table, the mother can deliberately not take the dishes and chopsticks. After everyone in the family is seated, ask the child: "Baby, do you think there is something missing on the table?" Encourage the child to go to the cupboard to get the dishes and chopsticks. For example, when the house gets darker in the evening, the mother can be "lazy" and ask the child to turn on the light.

4. Stand aside when faced with difficulties

Children will inevitably encounter various difficulties in life, from small things like not being able to turn on a toy switch to big things like having conflicts with other kids outside. At this time, it is best for mothers to "stand by and watch" and guide their children to solve the problems themselves. For example, if the toy car does not light up and the child comes to ask for help, the mother can say, "Mom wants to play with it too. Can you help me fix it?" When the child turns it over and over to check it, the mother can study it together and inspire the child to turn on the switch or change the battery.

5. Encourage family members to seek help

Mothers can also seize the right opportunity to guide other family members to ask their children for help. For example, when grandfather comes to visit and doesn’t know how to turn on the TV, the mother can say, "How do we turn on the TV? Grandpa just came and doesn’t know. Why don’t you ask the baby?" It is also best for family members to cooperate in asking the child and work together to do a good job of educating the child.
