Baby's face has acne and pus

Children are generally not prone to acne before they enter puberty. However, due to endocrine disorders or contact with skin care products, the skin is irritated and becomes sensitive, resulting in small pimples. At first, they are just small dots, and some may have pus inside. What should I do if my baby has pimples with pus on his face?

1. The concept of red bumps on babies' heads

Infants refer to babies from the time the umbilical cord is tied after birth to within one year after birth. Due to exposure to a new external environment after birth, they may develop red bumps on their heads, some of which contain pus. What is the reason for this happening?

2. What happens if red bumps with pus appear on the baby’s head?

1. Infant impetigo: This condition is more common in poor head hygiene, such as not washing the hair, local sweating, excessive warmth, high room temperature and other discomforts, which can cause red bumps on the baby's head. It is a heat rash. Bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus normally exist on the baby's skin. Under the above unfavorable conditions, Staphylococcus aureus infection may occur secondary to it, leading to red bumps with pus. The treatment method first creates a suitable environment, including appropriate temperature and humidity, and uses topical antibiotic ointments such as Bactroban ointment or erythromycin ointment.

2. Secondary infection of eczema: After birth, babies are exposed to a fresh external environment and various stimuli, which can easily lead to eczema and red bumps in babies. Improper care or treatment may lead to secondary infection, causing red bumps with pus. The treatment method is to apply antibiotic ointment such as Bactroban ointment or furazolidone solution for washing.

3. Secondary infection of insect bite dermatitis: There are mosquitoes all year round in summer or in the south. If the baby is not properly cared for and is bitten by mosquitoes, he may be allergic to mosquito toxins, which can lead to secondary bacterial infection and the appearance of red bumps with pus. The treatment method is to give anti-allergic treatment and apply antibiotic ointment. At the same time, strengthen anti-mosquito measures to avoid being bitten again.

4. Other causes: such as seborrheic dermatitis, boils or other skin infections may also cause this situation and require corresponding examination and treatment.
