Children's cough acupuncture points

Children's cough acupuncture points

When a baby has cold symptoms, parents are reluctant to use medication to treat the baby, because although medication can treat colds, most medications will cause certain harm to the baby's body. Therefore, when treating colds, parents can also find other methods. Among them, pressing acupoints is also a method in traditional Chinese medicine that can relieve coughs. So what are the acupuncture points that can relieve cough in children?

1. Which acupoints should be pressed when the baby has a cough? Tanzhong acupoint

Location: The midpoint of the line connecting the two nipples on our chest.

Treatment method: We apply a little bit of prickly heat powder or talcum powder as a massage medium, or a little bit of egg white, which has a certain lubricating effect. Then we use our hands, for the convenience of operation, to use the outer edge of the palm, which is the part of the hypothenar, and place this part on the Danzhong point, and rub it quickly left and right or up and down. Rub it for a while longer and make sure to rub it until it is warm. This will have a good cough-relieving effect.

2. Which acupoints should be pressed for baby's cough? Tiantu acupoint

Location: When we tilt our neck back, we will find the sunken pit on the sternum. This is the Tiantu point because this is the sternum and the sunken area above the manubrium of the sternum. When we tilt our neck back, the pit where the sternum is sunken is the Tiantu point.

Treatment method: Please be careful not to press the Tiantu point inwards, as this will make the child feel very uncomfortable. What should we do? We use these fingers to gently pinch it, one by one. Don't press it too hard, as it will hurt the child. Pinch it gently repeatedly, and after a while there will be some bruising. This means we have achieved our goal. We need to pinch it to cause slight bruising under the skin.

How to prevent your baby from coughing

1. Ensure fresh air in the house

The symptoms of dry cough in babies may become more serious due to edema and congestion of the respiratory mucosa or increased secretions. Turbid air is one of the factors that cause these adverse reactions in the respiratory mucosa. Therefore, it is important to keep the indoor air fresh. Parents should do the following: first, the kitchen should exhaust the fumes in time; second, avoid smoking at home; regular window opening for ventilation is also essential, preferably once in the morning and once in the afternoon, each time for 20 minutes.

2. Adjust the indoor temperature in time

The neutral temperature is between 25℃ and 28℃, which is the most suitable temperature for babies. Generally speaking, although it is difficult to keep the room temperature at a suitable temperature, it can be ensured that the indoor temperature is not too high or too low. Most parents think that babies are afraid of cold, so they dress their children in a lot of clothes regardless of the season or location. However, this will only lead to poorer body regulation ability and lower resistance of the children.

3. Maintain appropriate indoor humidity

An overly dry environment can cause many problems, such as restricted cilia movement, dry and brittle nasal mucosa, and even ruptured blood vessels and bleeding. Especially when the baby's respiratory organs are inflamed, dry air has a particularly great impact. Therefore, when the baby is indoors, the indoor humidity should be maintained at an appropriate level.

What to eat when baby coughs

1. Sichuan Fritillary Rock Sugar and Snow Pear

After washing the pear with the skin, cut a horizontal cut at the upper 1/3 position. The upper part is used as the "lid", and the core of the lower part is removed. Add Sichuan Fritillaria and rock sugar, then cover the "lid" and seal it with a toothpick. Put the pears into the stew pot and stew over medium heat for about 20 minutes.

2. Boil white radish water

Cut the white radish into 4-5 thin slices, put it into a small pot, add half a bowl of water, bring to a boil and then simmer for 5 minutes on low heat. This method is more effective for dry nose, throat, dry cough and little sputum.

3. Perilla porridge

10 grams of perilla leaves, 50 grams of japonica rice, 3 slices of ginger, and 3 dates. First cook porridge with japonica rice. When the porridge is almost cooked, add perilla leaves, ginger and jujube, and let the baby eat it while it is hot.

4. Ginger + brown sugar + garlic

If a child has a cold, drinking warm ginger and brown sugar water can have a good relieving effect. If the child also has a cough, you can add 2-3 cloves of garlic to the ginger and brown sugar water and cook them together. Use low heat to cook for 10 minutes to remove the spiciness of the garlic. Only then will the child be willing to drink.
