1) Provide adequate protein. Adults need about 80 grams of protein per day, and children need relatively more. It is important not only to ensure the quantity of protein, but also to pay attention to the quality of protein. Animal foods such as fish, meat, eggs and milk contain a relatively complete range of essential amino acids for the human body and have high nutritional value, so their supply and needs should be guaranteed.

(2) Provide abundant calcium. Calcium is an important raw material for bones. Preschool children need 600 mg of calcium per day, primary school students need 800 mg, and middle school students need 1200 mg. If the food does not provide enough calcium, infants and young children will develop rickets and school-age children will not grow tall. Therefore, we should pay attention to providing calcium-rich foods in our diet, such as milk, beans and their products, sesame paste, kelp, dried shrimps, melon seeds and green leafy vegetables. Adding appropriate amounts of calcium and cod liver oil to infants and school-age children can help them grow taller.

(3) It is recommended to eat less sugar. Eating too much sugar can easily affect children's appetite, reduce their food intake, and inevitably affect the absorption of nutrients. Moreover, when there is too much sugar, the metabolic intermediates pyruvate and lactic acid in the body will increase, which requires alkaline calcium to neutralize. The calcium consumption is bound to increase, thus affecting bone growth.

(4) Make sure to have a good breakfast. Eat a full and good breakfast. If children do not eat a good breakfast, the nutrition supply is insufficient, and the brain does not consume enough energy, so they have to use the protein stored in the body. This is like "removing the firewood from under the pot", which will inevitably affect the growth and development of the body over time.

The factors that affect a child's height growth are different, but we cannot change congenital problems, but we can change their acquired diet and exercise.
