How long is the appropriate swimming time for children?

Swimming is a great sport for keeping fit, so can it also be good for children? The result is affirmative. Swimming can not only improve children's physique, but also help children's bone development better. However, although swimming has so many benefits, it does not mean that the longer the swimming time, the better. So how long is appropriate for children to swim? Let’s take a look together below!

1. When children are swimming, their limbs are moving, which not only improves the flexibility of the body, but also has great benefits for the development of the brain. It not only increases the brain's reaction speed to the outside world, but also makes children braver and stronger, and at the same time gives them a greater sense of security.

2. Improve lung capacity, because we mainly rely on lungs to breathe, and the strength of lung function is determined by the strength of respiratory muscles. Swimming can develop the respiratory muscles, increase lung capacity, and more alveoli will open when inhaling, making breathing smoother.

3. Strengthen the blood circulation of the skin. During swimming, due to the stimulation of water temperature, the body functions to maintain temperature balance, so the blood vessels in the skin continue to contract, thereby strengthening the blood circulation of the skin. Not only that, it also makes the skin soft and radiant.

4. Do not take children swimming for too long or too many times. It is best to increase the baby's swimming time gradually. 10 minutes is enough for the first time, and then the time can be slowly extended. It is best not to exceed half an hour. Also be careful not to let your baby swim too frequently; 1 to 2 times a week is enough.

5. Children must keep warm after swimming. After swimming, wrap your child in a bath towel, dry his body, apply some baby skin care products, and give him a full body massage. Rest for a while before giving your baby water or milk to relieve his fatigue.

It should be noted that although swimming can improve the baby's immunity, increase lung capacity, help the baby digest and promote sleep, etc., parents must wait until the baby is healthy in all aspects of his body before letting the baby go swimming. At the same time, there must be an adult to watch over the baby while swimming to prevent accidents.
