What are the symptoms of precocious puberty in boys?

Many parents think that precocious puberty is a disease that their children are still suffering from, so they ignore the protection of their boys in this regard. Although girls are more likely to suffer from the disease than boys, it does not mean that boys will not suffer from this disease. There are still a small number of men who suffer from precocious puberty. Generally, after suffering from precocious puberty, they will feel that their testicles begin to enlarge, which is a relatively preliminary manifestation.

Enlargement of the testicles and penis, appearance of pubic hair, some facial hair and voice changes, or erection and ejaculation of semen. After the testicles and penis appear, parents find that these children grow faster than other children of the same age. The same thing happens to girls as well.

Precocious puberty can be divided into true, false and partial according to the pathogenesis.

True precocious puberty is caused by the early activation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad axis, the regulatory system in the body that controls puberty development. Males can ejaculate and females can ovulate, which can lead to the early appearance of reproductive ability.

Pseudo-precocious puberty is caused by a diseased part of the body, such as a gonadal tumor, producing a large amount of sex hormones, or by taking more foods or drugs containing sex hormones, which increases the level of sex hormones in the blood. However, the hypothalamus-pituitary gland of the child is not activated, so he does not have reproductive ability.

As for partial precocious puberty, most of them are simple early breast development, not accompanied by development of other sexual characteristics, and bone development is not accelerated. It is more common in younger children. It is mainly related to the fact that the stable negative feedback regulation of the hypothalamus has not been established in the children, but there is a temporary increase in estrogen secreted by the ovaries and follicle-stimulating hormone secreted by the pituitary gland. This description is closer to minipuberty.

Generally speaking, there are significantly more girls with precocious puberty than boys, and the proportion of true precocious puberty is also significantly higher than that of boys. Not only that, 80% of precocious puberty in girls is idiopathic, meaning no specific cause can be found. If you are not careful, falsehood may turn into truehood.

After reading this article, I believe everyone has an understanding of the manifestations of precocious puberty in boys. Parents will feel that their children are much taller than children of the same age before the age of 8, but they stop growing after the age of 8, or even their children's height remains stable at the previous level.
