What are the treatments for rhinitis in children?

Rhinitis, also known as sinusitis, is very common in life and is more common in teenagers. Most of them are caused by the common cold. Generally speaking, patients with rhinitis will not be serious with mild attacks. They will have constant runny nose, sneezing, and itching in the nasal cavity. So what are the treatments for children's rhinitis, and how can children recognize recovery and treatment as soon as possible? The following article will take you to appreciate it.

How should the treatment and rehabilitation of sinusitis in children be carried out?

Acute sinusitis in children is mainly treated conservatively. Regardless of whether there are complications or not, sufficient and effective antibiotics or sulfonamides should be given actively. Local medication is mainly ventilation and drainage. 0.5% to 1% ephedrine saline can be used for nasal spray or nasal drops. Nasal drops are prohibited for young children to prevent damage to the cilia of the nasal mucosal epithelium and cause drug-induced rhinitis. Local hot compresses and nasal steam inhalation can also be performed. Some children's acute sinusitis may disappear on its own as the primary disease heals.

Chronic sinusitis in children can be treated in a variety of ways. Vasoconstrictors can be dropped into the nose, and for those with allergic factors, anti-allergic drugs can be applied systemically. Chronic sinusitis in children over 6 years old can be treated with negative pressure replacement therapy. For patients with chronic sinusitis and palatine tonsil hypertrophy.

Tonsillectomy should be performed early and the adenoids should be scraped away together. For children with chronic sinusitis, septum correction, inferior nasal meatus endonasal fenestration or nasal polypectomy may be considered while strictly controlling the indications. Maxillary sinus puncture and irrigation, followed by injection of antibiotics into the sinus after irrigation, is an effective method for treating chronic maxillary sinusitis in children.

However, this method should be used with caution to avoid accidents, and the puncture should be performed under general anesthesia. In order to avoid repeated general anesthesia and repeated puncture, a plastic tube can be placed in the maxillary sinus for flushing after the first puncture to obtain pus. That is, a thin plastic tube is inserted from the puncture needle core and fixed to the cheek with adhesive tape. Flush 2 to 3 times a day. The plastic tube is generally retained for 5 to 7 days. If there is no purulent secretion, the tube will be removed.

Do not perform surgical treatment lightly when children have sinusitis without complications. On the basis of the above-mentioned treatment methods, Chinese medicine, acupuncture, physical therapy and other methods can be used to promote recovery. We should improve the body's resistance, strengthen exercise, ensure nutrition, not be picky eaters, eat more fruits and vegetables; dress appropriately, avoid catching cold, but don't wear too thick clothes.

The above article introduces the treatment methods for children's rhinitis. First of all, I would like to suggest to all young parents that if your children often pick their noses, you should stop this behavior, because this behavior will cause damage to the child's nasal cavity and cause a higher incidence of rhinitis.
