To be on the safe side, we interviewed three experts to get their opinions on whether children can soak their feet in hot water. There were both Western and Chinese medicine experts, and the opinions of the experts were quite different.

I thought that Western medicine, which is against foot soaking, would be more tolerant of this issue. First of all, it denies the claim that soaking feet in hot water can sprain ligaments. It also suggests that parents can soak their children's feet to relieve fatigue. However, there is an age limit, that is, foot soaking is still suitable for children after school. The temperature feels close to that of adults, and can clearly express whether the water temperature is suitable. Even so, the time should not be too long, and you don't have to sweat profusely like the elderly.

Chief physician Wang Zemin from the Department of Internal Medicine at the Wangjing Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences does not recommend soaking the feet of infants and young children in hot water. The reason is that children have a "pure yang body" and are prone to fever and getting angry. If you use hotter water to soak your feet and sweat, it will add insult to injury.

Especially for infants and young children, their sense of temperature is different from that of adults. Adults feel that the water temperature is slightly hot, but for children it is already very hot. But they are not very good at expressing themselves, so it is easy to burn their delicate skin. From this perspective, it is not recommended to soak your feet in hot water.

Just wash your feet thoroughly with warm water every day. After washing, you can gently massage your feet to relax your muscles and bones.

When washing feet with warm water, parents should control the time and not let it be too long. Children like to play in water and splash their feet, which will make the water cold. It is equivalent to soaking their feet in cold water, which makes them more likely to catch a cold.

When children are washing their feet, parents are most afraid that their little feet will splash around and make the ground full of water. Here are two tips: one is to place a large rag under the foot basin; the other is to use a larger basin to cover the small basin where the child soaks his feet, so that the water made by the child will be collected in the large basin and will not splash everywhere.

Foot soaking is good, but if you want to soak your feet, you must first find the correct way to soak your feet. How can foot soaking be good for children's health? How can foot soaking be helpful to children's health? In fact, it is not difficult. As long as we add appropriate amount of water when children soak their feet and the water temperature is not too high, it will not affect the children and will have a good effect.
