What should children with myopia eat?

What should children with myopia eat?

Nowadays, more and more teenagers in our country are suffering from myopia. Some children even become myopic in kindergarten. In high schools and universities, almost every student wears glasses. Many friends feel helpless about this situation. The reason why children become nearsighted is not only because of heavy schoolwork, but more because they often watch TV and use their eyes incorrectly. In this case, we can correct the child through diet therapy. So what should children with myopia eat?

(1) Protein. The intake of fish, eggs, milk and lean meat should be appropriately increased, with animal protein as the main source.

(2) Calcium and phosphorus. It plays a role in strengthening the sclera. It is more common in milk, beans, nuts, dried shrimps, kelp, snow vegetable, mustard tuber, walnuts and pumpkin seeds. Foods containing vitamin D can enhance the absorption of calcium and phosphorus. These foods include egg yolks, butter, cod liver oil, etc.

(3) Chromium. When chromium is insufficient, the insulin regulation function is affected, blood sugar increases, the osmotic pressure of the lens and aqueous humor increases, the refractive power increases and causes myopia. Therefore, you should eat more foods containing chromium. Such as beef, semolina, brown rice, grapes, mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, white fungus, black fungus, etc.

(4) Selenium. Selenium is involved in the activities of the eye muscles and pupils. Nutritionists believe that when a person's daily selenium intake is less than 50 micrograms, vision will be affected after a period of time. Therefore, they should eat more selenium-rich foods such as fish, poultry, cabbage, radish, leek, garlic sprouts, etc.

(5) Carotene and vitamin A. Lack of vitamin A will affect night vision, so you should eat more foods containing carotene (which can be converted into vitamin A) and vitamin A, such as carrots, corn, pumpkin, green vegetables, egg yolks, animal liver, etc.

(6) Vitamin B. Vitamin B: When it is lacking, it is easy to suffer from visual fatigue. Vitamin B has a nutritional effect on the optic nerve. These foods include flour, peanuts, lean meat, milk, vegetables, etc.

Regarding the question of what children with myopia should eat, I believe that after reading the above content, everyone has a certain understanding. Through diet therapy, you can improve your child's eyesight, but you must persist in doing so for the effect to be significant. In normal times, let children look at more green plants, watch less TV and play with mobile phones, and use their eyes correctly.
