What to do if your child is deaf?

We know that almost every parent in the world actually hopes that their children can be healthy. . Although we hope that our children can be safe, once a child has hearing problems, treatment is required. And if there are problems that endanger healthy growth, active care and treatment are actually needed. What should I do if my child is deaf?

In life, many parents or guardians do not pay enough attention to their children's hearing. When they find out that their children are deaf, it is too late to regret. Therefore, parents and guardians should pay more attention to their children's hearing health. If a child is not woken up by loud noises while sleeping within 3 months after birth, or if the child does not respond to the sudden sound of clapping when just falling asleep, then the child may have hearing problems; if a child under 1 year old ignores strange or sudden noises around him, then the child may have hearing problems; if a child cannot speak or can only make simple sounds at the age of 2 to 3 years old, then the child may also have hearing problems. If you find or suspect that your child has hearing problems, you should go to the hospital immediately and take necessary measures. Never "wait".

There are many types of deafness, and hearing loss can be mild or severe, and the course of the disease can be long or short. According to different types of deafness, you should pay attention to the following issues:

(1) Patients with sudden deafness, especially those with severe bilateral hearing loss, are very difficult to adapt to in life. We know that the function of human hearing is first to ensure one's own safety needs, and secondly to communicate with others. Being completely deaf in both ears means you can't hear the sound of cars on the road, and you can't hear the various natural sounds in the wild, which can sometimes be very dangerous. Therefore, patients should stay in the hospital or at home to recuperate during treatment and should not go out.

(2) Patients who have been deaf for a long time have adapted to the nearly silent world of word roots and generally will not be in danger. However, there may be hidden dangers of unsafe conditions due to others' lack of attention.

(3) Patients who wear hearing aids and rely on them for a long time should prevent problems caused by factors such as sudden malfunction of the hearing aid or battery failure.

(4) When talking to deaf patients and explaining things, you need to be patient and use words and gestures to help with communication when necessary. We must respect patients and not speak disrespectfully to them simply because they are deaf. At this time, if the patient understands the main meaning by lip reading (looking at the mouth shape), adverse consequences will occur.

(5) Deaf patients should have a regular daily routine, maintain a moderate level of work and rest, eat a light diet, be persistent in the treatment of their disease, and have confidence in their future life.

Warm reminder: Once a child has hearing problems, hopes will often be shattered. At this time, people often feel helpless or even desperate. At this time, patients should not eat spicy food casually. And don't do strenuous exercise.
