Is it good to bathe babies every day?

Is it good for infants and young children to take a bath every day? This is a dispute among many parents every day, and it is also a question of great confusion. Some people think that it is best to bathe children every day in summer. If children are not bathed, their bodies will be dirty and smelly. However, some parents think that it is not good for children to take a bath every day. If children take a bath frequently, their skin will not be able to bear it. They also need to use chemical products frequently, which is even worse for the skin. So is it good for infants and young children to take a bath every day?

When I attended parenting lectures, I also heard that it is best for babies to bathe every day. Such a small baby grows very fast, and many of its brain nerves are not fully developed. Its metabolism is very fast, and metabolic waste, such as sweat and dead skin, will clog the pores. Bathing is very beneficial to the baby's development and health. In addition, bathing the baby and playing with water can make you feel the happiness of parent-child, and the baby can also feel the happy feeling of playing with amniotic fluid in the mother's belly. It has only benefits and no harm. However, it is not suitable to bathe the baby in the morning, especially when the baby has just woken up. The temperature is relatively low in the morning, and the pores of the baby who has just woken up are open. The moisture remaining on the body after bathing will lower the baby's body temperature, which may easily cause the baby to catch a cold and other discomforts. Therefore, you should not bathe your baby just after waking up or just after feeding. It is better to bathe your baby after 10 am when the sun is out and before 7 or 8 pm when the temperature is the most suitable in the day.

When bathing your baby, pay attention to keeping him warm and safe. It is best to bathe with clean water, and each bath should not exceed 10 minutes.

Babies' skin is different from adults'. Their skin is thinner and more delicate. Bathing them every day can indeed keep them clean, but it may also cause dry skin. Especially for children with dry skin, soaking in water every day may cause the skin to become dehydrated, drier, and even peeling. If you bathe your child for too long, the outermost stratum corneum of the skin will absorb water and become soft, reducing the skin's resistance.

In addition, you don’t have to use shower gel every time you bathe your child. Just wash with clean water.

There is a layer of oil on the outside of children's skin, which plays an important role in keeping the skin moisturized, reducing external irritation and keeping warm. Many shower gels are alkaline, which will destroy this layer of oil and easily make the skin dry and rough. Repeatedly rubbing the body with shower gel may cause sensitive skin in severe cases.

Therefore, if the child is not too dirty, there is no need to wash him every day. It can be washed every one or two days depending on the specific situation. Bath gel can be used once a week. If you need to take a shower every day when the weather is hot, just rinsing with clean water will be enough.

Because newborns have a fast metabolism, they should be bathed every day to keep their skin clean. However, you should not bathe your baby before he wakes up, as this will affect his sleep and may scare him. Therefore, it is best to bathe your baby before he goes to bed at night so that he can sleep comfortably. When bathing, keep the room temperature not too cold. You can use a heater to coax the baby first. The water temperature should be between 38 and 42 degrees. You can dip your elbows in the water as long as it feels neither cold nor hot. Each bath lasts about a quarter of an hour. After bathing, wrap the baby with a dry towel immediately to prevent the baby from catching a cold. Under normal circumstances, the baby's hands and feet are cold. After a bath, the mother holds the baby to feed the baby, and the baby will soon fall asleep comfortably.

Different people have different answers and understandings to this question. Whether it is good for children to take a bath every day depends on the individual. If children take a bath every day, it is best not to put chemical products in their baths, such as shower gel or soap, as these are very bad for their skin. When taking a bath, it is best to just rinse them with plain water.
