Causes of peeling hands and feet in children

Peeling of the hands and feet in children is a very common disease. This disease poses a serious threat to the health of the hands and feet of many children. If parents find that their children have peeling hands and feet, they must pay attention to it. First of all, they must understand what causes it? Only in this way can they recover as soon as possible through treatment. The causes of the disease are introduced below, and parents should understand it as soon as possible.

Causes

1. Keratotic and scaly tinea pedis is characterized by flaky erythema with thickened, rough and scaly keratin. The surface is covered with scales with clear edges. It often occurs between the toes, soles, heels and sides of the feet. It is often bilateral but can also be unilateral, with itching. Fungal microscopy and culture are positive.

2. Exfoliative keratolysis: The skin lesions initially appear as needle-tip-sized white blisters, which may gradually expand and rupture in the center to form paper-thin dandruff, or merge into large exfoliations of the epidermis. They lack inflammatory characteristics and often occur symmetrically on the hands and feet, especially the palms. There are generally no subjective symptoms and they often heal on their own after a few weeks. They are prone to recurrence in warm seasons and are often accompanied by sweat blisters and localized hyperhidrosis. Most patients are adults. Treatment can be done by applying 10% urea cream externally and taking vitamin A, vitamin E, etc. orally.

3. Chronic eczema Some people suffer from repeated acute and subacute eczema on the palms and soles of their feet, which turns into chronic eczema. The skin lesions are manifested as thickening and roughness of the skin in the affected area, with a small amount of thin scales on the surface. They often occur symmetrically and are extremely itchy. Take the medicine under the guidance of a doctor.

4. Other diseases such as palmoplantar pustulosis, exfoliative dermatitis, psoriasis, etc., in addition to systemic or sporadic skin lesions, may also cause peeling of the hands or feet.
