The main symptoms of chronic laryngitis are hoarseness, dry throat, sore throat when speaking, and often a feeling of phlegm sticking to the throat due to increased throat secretions.

The cold is a catarrhal disease of the upper respiratory tract caused by viruses, mixed infections or allergic reactions, manifested by local and systemic symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, throat discomfort, chills, low fever, etc.

There are two types of laryngeal cancer: primary and secondary. Primary laryngeal cancer refers to tumors that originate in the larynx, with squamous cell carcinoma (90%) being the most common. Secondary laryngeal cancer refers to the metastasis of malignant tumors from other parts of the body to the larynx, which is relatively rare.

(I) Etiological treatment: Appropriate silence, avoid excessive use of the voice, quit smoking and drinking, and actively treat lesions in adjacent organs.

(2) Use steam inhalation, nebulization inhalation or ultrashort wave therapy to eliminate inflammation.

(3) Vocal cord polyps or long-standing vocal cord nodules can be removed surgically (microsurgery under general anesthesia can completely remove the lesions without damaging normal tissue and should be the preferred surgical method).

(IV) Traditional Chinese Medicine: Treatment is given according to the principle of TCM dialectical treatment. For patients with sticky phlegm and hoarseness, Haijiang Decoction can be used. Those who get tired easily when talking, have shortness of breath and hoarseness can use Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang with modifications.
