How to treat anorexia in children?

How to treat anorexia in children?

Nowadays, in cities, many children are only children. Because children love to eat snacks, and many parents will satisfy their children's demands endlessly. This can easily lead to children eating too many snacks and not wanting to eat at mealtimes. In severe cases, it can even lead to anorexia, which will have a huge impact on the child's growth and development. Today, I will introduce to you the signs of anorexia and some treatment methods.

1. Proper feeding

Vigorously promote scientific parenting knowledge and ensure reasonable feeding. It is best for babies under 4 months old to be exclusively breastfed. Add complementary foods in a reasonable order and don't rush.

2. Develop good eating habits

The principle of "eating enough but not too full" should be followed when eating. Children should eat three meals a day with two snacks and fruits in between. They should eat less fried and other hot foods, fatty foods, and raw and cold foods to avoid increasing the gastrointestinal burden and affecting appetite. They should maintain a relaxed and happy mood when eating. If they are too full for a while, they can take some digestive medicine, or they can eat less or no food for one or two meals. When the child is hungry and the gastrointestinal tract is unblocked, they can resume normal meals. "Hunger therapy" often has unexpected results; get enough sleep and avoid strenuous activities before and after meals.

3. Strengthen physical exercise

Appropriately increasing the child's activity level can speed up gastrointestinal motility, increase the secretion of digestive juices, increase appetite, and enhance the gastrointestinal digestion and absorption function.

4. Actively treat the primary disease

Treat physical or gastrointestinal diseases promptly and eliminate the causes. Moreover, drug treatment must be carried out under the guidance of a doctor and medication must not be taken without permission.

5. Stop taking drugs that cause gastrointestinal reactions

Stop taking antibiotics and other drugs that cause gastrointestinal reactions.

6. Supplement trace elements

If anorexia is caused by zinc deficiency, oral zinc preparations can be given. In addition, you can also supplement your diet and eat more animal foods.

7. Medication

Digestive aids, gastrokinetic drugs, and hormone therapy may be considered for severe and intractable anorexia.

Although childhood anorexia is scary, many parents can be prepared to prevent it. For example: let children develop good eating habits, eat less snacks, and not be picky about food; eat more fruits and vegetables; strengthen physical exercise, on the one hand to enhance children's appetite, on the other hand to enhance children's resistance. The above is the information I provide for you!
