What are the causes of bronchitis in children?

Bronchitis in children is a common respiratory disease among children. Because children’s respiratory systems are relatively weak, and their body’s resistance and immunity are weakened, they are very susceptible to infection, which can lead to bronchitis in children. So what exactly causes bronchitis in children? How should we adjust and analyze? Let me tell you.

1. Endogenous Phlegm

Children's spleen and stomach are relatively weak, and they are easily damaged by milk, food, and raw and cold food, which leads to spleen and stomach disorders, making it impossible to fully digest and absorb food, thus forming phlegm, which accumulates and is stored in the lungs, blocking the airway, making breathing difficult, and causing coughing; over time, phlegm is produced, which hinders the normal function of the lung qi, thus causing coughing.

2. Feeling the external evil

The common cause of bronchitis in children is mainly due to the invasion of wind evil, which invades the lungs. Since the lungs are responsible for the flow of qi, if they are invaded by external pathogens, it will cause the lung qi to rise and cause coughing. If the patient develops an infection or a respiratory tract infection, it will cause nasal congestion and heavy breathing, accompanied by clear runny nose, hoarseness, dry cough and little sputum and other uncomfortable symptoms.

3. Deficiency of Qi and Yin

Since infants and young children have relatively weak constitutions, if an exogenous cough does not heal for a long time, it will lead to the depletion of Qi and Yin, and then develop into an internal injury cough, which is also one of the causes of common pediatric bronchitis. Patients will experience symptoms of lung yin depletion or lung and spleen qi deficiency, and their condition will worsen.

4. Viral Infection

In life, all viruses that may cause upper respiratory tract infection may cause this disease. This is also the most important and most common cause of bronchitis in children, and the harm to patients cannot be underestimated. Common viruses include adenovirus, influenza virus, and respiratory virus.

5. Bacterial infection

Based on the infection caused by the virus, bacterial infection will then occur. The more common ones are pneumococcus, staphylococcus, and influenza bacillus, etc. After suffering from tracheitis, patients often develop repeated infections, which further aggravate the condition and cause lasting damage to the body.

I believe that everyone now knows the cause of childhood bronchitis. I hope it can be of some help to all babies and parents. I suggest that everyone should do a good job of preventing the disease in daily life, especially pay attention to personal hygiene. Be sure to wash your hands before eating to prevent bacterial invasion.
