Symptoms and causes of poor digestion in one-month-old babies

Because the digestive systems of newborns are still in an immature stage, they may have poor digestion. This situation can be serious or minor. We must clearly understand what the child's performance is to be considered indigestion. We must know the child's situation as early as possible so that we can prescribe the right medicine. So what are the manifestations and causes of poor digestion in one-month-old babies?

Neonatal indigestion is generally physiological indigestion. Because the digestive system of the newborn, such as the mouth, esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, intestinal bacteria, etc., are in an immature stage of development, a series of discomfort symptoms occur during or after eating.

1. Neonatal indigestion is mainly manifested in the following aspects:

1. The baby has bad breath, with a sour and rotten smell in the breath, and a thick white tongue coating. Sometimes, when the child just wakes up in the morning, there is a sour and smelly smell in the mouth. Observe his tongue coating, which may be thicker, yellow and greasy, or a little red.

2. Loss of appetite, unwilling to eat; the body keeps turning during sleep, and sometimes even clenching teeth, "if the stomach is not in harmony, the night will be restless";

3. The cheeks are flushed and the facial skin is rough. The redness of the face is more obvious when the environment is slightly hot.

4. Your child’s appetite may not be as good as before

5. Observe the stool. Some children have watery stools, which may occur 3 to 4 times a day. The stools may also contain some undigested particles and even have a sour smell.

6. For young babies, you can also look at the lower part of the child's eyes. If there is blue or large bags under the eyes, it is also a sign of spleen and stomach disharmony and indigestion.

2. Neonatal indigestion is generally caused by two reasons:

(1) Alternate feeding with breast milk and formula milk or feeding with formula milk alone.

(2) Not paying attention to cleanliness when caring for newborns. For indigestion caused by this reason, the caregiver of the newborn should pay attention to maintaining personal hygiene and disinfection.

Poor digestion of a one-month-old baby is not good for the baby's own health. Parents should pay attention to some subtle changes in the child. A one-month-old baby is in a relatively fragile stage and must be well cared for. Then we should also pay more attention to some factors affected by breast milk, milk powder, etc.!
