Are there any precautions for children’s orthodontics?

When children are in the process of replacing their teeth, it is inevitable that the new teeth will grow crooked due to some reasons. After discovering such teeth, most parents will let their children wear braces or other braces to correct their teeth. The correction process is very painful and lengthy. There are many things to note that need to be told to parents and children, and I hope this will attract everyone's attention.

1. Maintain oral hygiene. During the process of orthodontic treatment, wearing braces will inevitably affect eating. A lot of food will be stuck in the teeth after each meal, so you need to pay special attention to oral hygiene. Brush your teeth carefully after meals, and it is best to use a special toothbrush. Parents should urge their children to brush their teeth every morning and evening, and master the correct brushing method, and rinse their mouths after eating.

2. Teeth decalcification. Some people have square marks on their teeth after removing their braces. This is decalcification caused by poor oral hygiene. Mild decalcification can be gradually improved through dietary adjustments after removing the braces. Eat more foods that are beneficial to tooth growth.

3. Pay attention to your diet. During the orthodontic process, you should also pay attention to dietary issues. Do not chew hard foods. Try to let your child eat less sticky foods. Let your child eat less hard foods that may affect the braces, such as bones, nuts, fried foods, and chewing gum.

4. After teeth correction. It is best for your child to wear a retainer for a period of time after orthodontic treatment, otherwise it is easy for rebound to occur, and the correction effect will not be good, and the teeth may become more crooked. At the same time, parents should supervise their children patiently and never take them off at any time, and pay attention to protecting their teeth.

Parents should pay attention to the above aspects, otherwise the braces may fall off during the correction process, which will cause unnecessary pain and trouble to the children and affect the correction effect. At the same time, parents should take their children to the dental clinic for regular check-ups, about once every two weeks.
