How can I cure diarrhea in a 2-year-old child?

The baby's gastrointestinal function has not yet fully developed, and symptoms of diarrhea may occur without the mother's notice. At this time, the baby's body will become very weak, and the baby will feel uncomfortable and unwilling to eat more, which makes mothers feel very distressed. However, for this kind of disease in babies, treatment and care are relatively easy to achieve results. So what should we do when the disease really occurs? What medications should be used for treatment?

1. The mother should temporarily stop the child from eating to give the gastrointestinal tract a rest, so as not to put too much burden on the digestive metabolism of the gastrointestinal tract. Afterwards, the child should take probiotics and other drugs according to the doctor's advice to avoid the body from losing a large amount of nutrients and other substances.

2. Replenish body water in time: Diarrhea will initially cause mild dehydration, so the focus of care is to replenish the baby's lost body water first. Mothers can choose any of the following methods of rehydration: (1) Homemade sugar and salt water. Add 10 grams of glucose or white sugar and 2-5 grams of salt to 500 ml of boiling water. Take 20-40 ml/kg body weight within 4 hours and take the rest at any time. (2) Salt and rice soup. Add 2 grams of salt to 500 ml of rice soup and let your baby drink it as boiled water. (3) Take the new formula of oral rehydration salt: 3.5 g sodium chloride, 2.5 g sodium bicarbonate, 1.5 g potassium chloride, 20 g anhydrous glucose, add water to 1000 ml.

3. The diet includes coarse grain porridge and a small amount of pickles, and other light and easily digestible foods, such as millet porridge, green vegetables, and lettuce. Parents need to pay attention: Do not give antibiotics on your own to avoid affecting the detection of pathogens. Also, do not give antidiarrheal drugs casually to prevent the excretion of pathogens and toxins.

When the baby has diarrhea, the mother should follow the editor's suggestions to provide appropriate care, feed the baby the medicine on time and according to the dosage every day, and observe the changes in the stool. In addition, the editor would like to make some suggestions. During the illness, you should avoid eating too raw and cold foods, such as ice cream and cold drinks, otherwise it will irritate the stomach and intestines.
