Foreskin refers to the skin of the penis that is folded into two layers at the glans penis. Phimosis and prepuce are both common diseases among men. If male friends do not receive timely treatment when they are young, it will affect their normal sexual life in the future. Phimosis or prepuce are mostly congenital in children. If a child has phimosis, it must be handled with caution to avoid inducing other diseases. When children begin normal metabolism and secretion after birth, phimosis or excessive foreskin will have a certain impact on urination. Especially in the case of phimosis, the foreskin will swell like a balloon when the child urinates. There is often a small amount of residual urine in the foreskin cavity after urination. Together with the accumulated sebum secretions and epithelial desquamation, lumpy smegma will gradually form, which is a good breeding ground for bacteria to multiply and grow. Phimosis in children needs early detection and early treatment. There are two commonly used methods for treating phimosis in children: 1. When there is no adhesion, surgical treatment can be used after local anesthesia to expand the foreskin opening artificially or with inflation. 2. Circumcision is performed when there is adhesion, especially when the adhesion is severe. If adhesion occurs, the glans will have uneven shape and varying shades of pigment after resection, affecting the appearance. Therefore, for children with phimosis, circumcision can be performed as early as possible in order not to affect the normal development of the glans. Patients with excessive foreskin do not need to rush for surgical treatment. They just need to pay attention to frequently turning up and cleaning the foreskin. However, they should pay attention to resetting the foreskin in time after turning it up and cleaning it to avoid foreskin incarceration. Circumcision is not a major surgery, but improper operation may have an adverse effect on future sexual life, so it should be treated with caution. If a child has phimosis, sometimes he does not need to undergo circumcision surgery, because it may be due to the child's young age and the penis has not developed normally. When the penis develops, the foreskin may automatically separate. The editor here still wants to remind parents that they still need to pay more attention to observation in normal times, and seek timely treatment if the child feels uncomfortable. |
