What to eat for a two-year-old baby with anemia

Generally speaking, the immunity of two-year-old babies is relatively low. If you are not careful, it will induce some diseases, such as anemia. Many people may not be aware that babies can also suffer from anemia. In fact, the incidence of this condition has become relatively high nowadays. Once it happens, you should let your baby pay more attention to rest, so as to reduce the burden on cardiopulmonary function.

1. Rest can reduce the burden on the heart and lungs and alleviate hypoxia.

2. People with mild anemia can engage in appropriate activities and take care of themselves in daily life, but they need to rest more. There should be a lunch break every day. If you feel dizzy or blurred vision during activities, immediately remove the pillow and lie down flat to increase blood circulation in the head, relieve dizziness symptoms, and prevent accidents.

3. Patients with severe anemia need to rest in bed to meet their basic living needs and prevent secondary skin infections. Keep the ward quiet, reduce visitors, and provide concentrated nursing care to ensure that the patient gets enough rest.

2. Proper diet

Patients with anemia should be given a high-protein, high-calorie, high-iron and high-vitamin diet, and the diet should be regulated according to the cause of the anemia. Patients with iron deficiency anemia and anemia caused by folic acid vitamin deficiency should focus on consuming liver, beef, and green vegetables. For patients with oral pain and oral mucosal ulcers, eating is encouraged, and they can eat small meals frequently and drink plenty of water. The diet should consist mainly of light, easily digestible foods, and avoid spicy, overheated, and irritating foods.

3. Prevention of complications

1. Skin care: The patient is in an anemic state and is prone to skin infections. For patients with severe anemia, assist in skin cleansing and prevent skin breakdown. Pressure sores are more likely to occur in hypoxic conditions, so bedridden patients should be assisted to turn over regularly to prevent the occurrence of pressure sores.

2. Oral care: Rinse your mouth with saline or boric acid water after eating to remove food debris in your mouth. For those with oral mucosal ulcers, perform oral care 2-3 times a day and apply oral ulcer ointment topically. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to brush your teeth; when the air is dry, apply compound peppermint oil on your lips to moisturize them and prevent them from drying out.

3. Ward environment: Keep the air fresh, ventilate 2-3 times a day, maintain appropriate temperature and humidity in the room, reduce the number of accompanying and visiting personnel, and prevent patients from developing lung infections.

4. Condition observation: Measure body temperature three times a day and pay attention to whether the patient has symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection such as sore throat and cough.
