Why does my baby keep waking up?

The joy of being a mother for the first time is what every mother feels at that time. I shed tears of excitement when my baby was born. However, the troubles that followed also caught me off guard. My baby was disobedient and didn’t sleep well. He always woke up after a while and had to be held while sleeping. In short, it was too tiring. So why does my baby always wake up when he is sleeping? Let me share the experience I have summarized with my sisters.

(1) The body and mind are subjected to severe stimulation without any warning. For example: falling from a height (bed, table, etc.); a sudden loud noise.

(2) Unstable sleeping environment. For example: sleeping in a moving car; falling asleep in an adult's arms while walking; falling asleep in a noisy public place.

(3) Being forced to do something you don’t want to do. For example: a baby who doesn’t want to take a bath is forced to take a bath; a baby is forcibly hugged and kissed by someone the baby thinks is a stranger, etc.

(4) Being frightened by new and strange things. For example, the first time you see the vast ocean, the first time you see a huge animal, the first time you see a rumbling train, etc.

(5) If the baby lacks certain nutrients (such as calcium), it will affect the development of the nervous system, making the baby more likely to become excited, cry, be restless, and be easily frightened.

(6) A small number of babies are born with weak psychological endurance and will be frightened by even the slightest noise. We should pay more attention to this type of baby and let him receive less stimulation.

The above summary may not be comprehensive. If you are too worried about the reasons why your baby wakes up easily, go to the hospital and ask the doctor for his opinion. If your baby's diet is the same as usual and he knows that he is more obedient when he is not sleeping, there is generally no big problem. As the baby gets older, he will adapt to this environment and will slowly get better, so don't worry. I wish your baby health and happiness!
