How to train a child with ADHD

If a child has ADHD, parents must accompany the child carefully, because after the child has ADHD, the child will be particularly active, have a serious curiosity about some things, and have no way to concentrate. This is actually not good for the child, because ADHD will also affect the child's future learning. So how to train children with ADHD?

It is normal for children to be playful, but when a child is too active and even the parents can no longer control him, it is necessary to check whether the child has ADHD in time. Children with ADHD may have mild problems with their normal study and life, or even serious problems that affect their entire lives. So, what should we do for children with ADHD who have difficulty concentrating?

How to train attention of children with ADHD?

1. Enrich life content: expand the life experience of preschool children and cultivate various interests. For example, letting them participate in games, clay work, painting and simple labor in daily life can turn the object of attention into the object of children's action, putting them in an active state, which is conducive to maintaining attention. Parents can also take their children to new environments to play, such as taking them to the park to let them see some flowers and plants they have never seen before, buildings of various shapes and other fascinating landscapes, or taking their children to the zoo to see some interesting animals, etc., using children's curiosity about new things to cultivate their attention.

2. Cultivate self-control: To eliminate external interference and maintain long-term, concentrated attention, you must have a certain level of self-control. Parents can start by helping their children control their external behavior, requiring them to concentrate on doing one thing at a time, not doing this and that, such as not playing while eating; when reading or painting, they should maintain the correct posture, not move around, and not touch things randomly. You can also let your children develop self-control through some special training, such as piano practice, calligraphy, or painting.

3. Improve observation skills: The stronger the child’s observation skills, the higher his concentration. First of all, we need to cultivate children's interest in observation. Parents should find things that make children curious and conduct observation training for them, guide them to observe carefully, and master observation methods. Let children learn to observe things from simple to complex, from easy to difficult, from part to whole, from outside to inside. During the observation process, ask questions to children, guide them to think, and enable them to gradually understand the essence of things, such as observing things hidden in a figure or finding the similarities and differences between two paintings, etc.

One thing to learn every day: Pay attention to proper nutrition, help children develop good eating habits, avoid partial or picky eating, and ensure adequate sleep. Strengthen physical exercise, improve physical fitness and prevent diseases.
