What to do if your child cries at night

What to do if your child cries at night

Children are a very sensitive group and can react greatly to some external stimuli. For example, children will scream loudly when their emotions are affected, and they are prone to crying when they are sick. Children are especially prone to crying at night when they are sleeping. Parents are very confused about this phenomenon. So, what should we do if children cry at night? Let’s take a look at the introduction below.

1. Use diapers at night to prevent the baby from sleeping due to urination. Also, be careful not to wrap the diaper too tightly.

2. If you find your child is sleepy, put him in the crib immediately. It is better to let your baby fall asleep on his own if you hold or rock him to sleep every time. Then whenever he wakes up at night, he will need you to hold him or rock him to fall asleep.

3. When the baby cries, do not react immediately. Wait for a few minutes, because most children will fall asleep naturally after waking up at night for a few minutes. If the child keeps crying, parents should go over to comfort him, but do not turn on the lights, play with him, pick him up or shake him. If the baby's crying gets worse, wait two minutes and check again, and consider whether he is hungry, has urinated, has a fever, or has any other signs of illness.

4. When feeding or changing diapers at night, do not let the child wake up completely (it is best to keep him in a semi-asleep state). In this way, it will be easier to fall asleep after feeding and changing diapers. Gradually reduce the number of feedings and do not let your child develop the habit of feeding at night.

5. Don’t let your baby sleep too much during the day.

6. Go to bed on time: Let your baby calm down one hour before going to bed. Don’t play too excitedly or tease him too much before going to bed.

There are many reasons why children cry at night. Parents should accurately discover the reasons why their children cry, comfort them in time, and prevent the crying from lasting too long. Therefore, when a child cries for no reason, it is necessary to see whether it is caused by the environment or certain diseases.
