Why does my baby keep shaking his head?

Why does my baby keep shaking his head?

There are more and more new parents now, and they don’t know much about many things about taking care of their babies. Basically, when the baby has some problems, the parents are already in a panic. In fact, the baby is small, and many of their organs and nerves are not fully developed. So if some minor symptoms appear, as long as we understand and pay attention to them in time, it will be fine. Today I will introduce why babies always shake their heads.

1. If your baby keeps shaking his head while sleeping, it may be because the indoor temperature is too high or the quilt is too many, causing the baby to be too hot. In this case, you should pay attention to the ambient temperature of the baby's sleep, which should be appropriate and not too hot.

2. Babies with eczema will not scratch themselves with their hands, but will shake their heads to rub the itch, showing that they like to shake their heads.

3. If your baby likes to shake his head, it may be due to calcium deficiency. If the baby is calcium deficient, some may also show symptoms of shaking the head. Pay attention to observe whether the baby has excessive sweating, night crying, restless sleep, baldness on the back of the head, etc. If so, it is best to go to the hospital for a bone alkaline phosphatase test to rule out the possibility of calcium deficiency.

4. At this stage of 4-6 months, you should add complementary foods to your baby. When the baby does not accept the new food, he will resist and use his head or hands to push the food away to indicate that he does not want to eat. This just requires letting the baby try it slowly and many times.

5. Another reason why babies like to shake their heads is that they are exercising their vestibular function. Just provide a safe environment for your baby to practice.

Through this, I believe many parents understand why their baby always shakes his head. If they analyze the above situations one by one, I believe they will be able to find out the reason why the baby shakes his head. Generally, as long as the baby does not have a high fever, convulsions or twitching, there is nothing to worry about. However, if the baby shakes his head due to the above conditions, he should be taken to the hospital for observation in time.
