Causes of scabs on baby's eyebrows

After the baby is born, the body is not yet adapted to the external environment, and there are always many situations that make many parents and friends very worried, especially the common scabs on the baby's eyebrows. Most of this phenomenon is due to many things and eczema, which come together to form such a phenomenon. So what is going on!

Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic skin inflammation that occurs mostly in areas with abundant sebaceous glands. It often starts from the head and spreads downward. Typical lesions are dark yellow-red papules or patches with clear edges and covered with greasy scales or crusts on the surface, accompanied by varying degrees of itching.

The clinical manifestations of seborrheic dermatitis vary due to the different locations and severity of damage.

Seborrheic dermatitis is common in newborns and adults. The cause of seborrheic dermatitis is still unclear. Some people think it is related to genetics, but it has not been confirmed. This disease is a secondary inflammation of the skin caused by seborrhea. Seborrheic dermatitis is actually the seborrheic type of eczema. It is more common in obese infants aged 1-3 months. The skin on the forehead, cheeks, and between the eyebrows is flushed and covered with yellow greasy scales. Thick yellow serous scabs can be seen on the scalp, and there is inflammation, erosion, and exudation under the scab. This is related to the fact that the mother's estrogen is transferred to the fetus through the placenta, causing an increase in the sebum of the newborn. Vitamin B2 deficiency can also lead to seborrheic dermatitis.

Seborrheic dermatitis is not too itchy, but the layers of scabs on the scalp are prone to secondary infection. Usually after the secondary infection, the child will scratch due to the itching and pain of the affected area, so cleaning the scabs is the focus of care.
